Love how you didn't just walk down the main commercial street but into alleys and courtyards and really gave us a feel for the everyday life in this town. Thank you
Thank you, I will try to walk into those alleys as much as possible. I hope to have a more comprehensive view of these towns, but there are still many places that I cannot enter or miss.
What i really appreciate about your videos is that we can get a better look into the "other side" of china. So not only the big cities like Shenzhen and co. but also the countryside which is pretty interesting in my opinion. Keep it up!
In order to answer this question, I made a special research. As of 2022, there are 21,379 such towns in China. The average population of each town is more than 90,000
Oh. This is an ordinary town in Guizhou Province. Guizhou is China's second poorest province with a population of 39,850,000. His neighbor, Chongqing, has a population of 30 million.
This is like a museum. They restored some scenic old village parts. Guess on weekends it is crowded. Visited a similar village in Sichuan during weekdays, not as crowded. Been to another on a weekend and you barely could move. We talked to one tea parlour owner, where we enjoyed tea with a nice view through the lattice work windows down to the street. As she told us her family are farmers. They received money from the government to restore their old house and have to keep a small businesses running to accommodate the tourists. A bit like Disney world. People like to wear Hanfu und take some videos. Looks like scenes from movies.
