In this video, I'll show you the documents you need to apply for the 10 year tourist "L" visa for entry to mainland China. I'll show you the forms, and discuss my experience filling them out, and going to the appointment. Hopefully this helps you avoid the third party fees & get your visa easily and on time! **Please note that I am sharing my own experience and research, but am not a professional or authority on the visa process. See additional info below:
Required documents discussed for the Tourist L visa for US Passport holders:
*Valid Passport with at least 6 months remaining and 2 pages
*COVA form - filled out, printed and signed
*Photocopy Page of Bio Information from passport
*Where you stay form- printed and signed
*Appointment confirmation form- printed out
*Travel plans- including round trip flights and hotel reservations- printed
Visa was processed in 6 business days from the appointment in LA. They will hold the passport and visa for 7 days for pick up. Failing to pick up within 7 days invalidates the visa and they will return the passport to the US authorities.

Hellos. When I try to book the appointment, this message the appears "Maximum number of people making appointment at one time is 0. Please make change." Does anyone know what does it mean??

So, I'd have to travel to apply for the visa? I'm in Seattle and from what I've seen on the US/China embassy website, I'd have to go to San Fran to apply. I think I might have to just pay the extra fees for a company to do it :(

I'm planning on applying to for the Chinese visa. It seems that online services are very expensive to get consolation. Anyway you provide some one on one consultation for a reasonable fee? I have a few questions as I'm preparing my documents. I will be living in Los Angeles by the end of the month so I think I will aim to schedule an appointment in December.

Question, me and my wife plan to travel to Xiamen and Taiwan from Canada. First stop Xiamen, China for 5 days then to Taipei for 5 days then back to Canada. Are we qualify for visa free? Thanks

I'm just sharing my experience, and in my case I already had plans booked so it was easy. I have heard reports that showing a travel itinerary that you intend to book, and is bookable works as well. When I went to the appointment they did carefully check to make sure my name was on the bookings, so I would assume that's something they look for. Getting refundable tickets/cancellable hotel rates would also be an option.

So I have a photo in hand. Do I need to upload one still of myself or can I walk in with the physical copy from the passport? Like I got a small square photo when I renewed my passport

Pick the one closest to you since you have to go there to complete the process.

I’ve uploaded about 5 different pictures ALL white backgrounds and I keep getting an error message saying that “photo needs to be a white background, upload another photo” please help! 🙏🏾

This was one of the more frustrating steps. To get the background all white I used a photo editing program. Not to change the actual image at all, just to lift it onto a white background.

If you already are using a white background you then have to make sure the light bulb is pure white (like 6000K plus) and the light has to be bright enough or the photo background may end up showing grey. Using photo editing software is a workable option.

Visa is approved for me, now it don't know what to do afterwards. an update would be appreciated :)
