Hi my grandparent have BRC (biometric residence card) under eu scheme. Do they need to apply for E-visa as on the website it says it don’t. Because when my grandparent came at the border and said it’s on the system already. Let me know thanks

I don’t think they need to do so. Follow the instructions on the website for people under EU scheme. If you get an email from the Home Office, follow the advice there. All the best!

I guess so 🤷🏽‍♀️. Those who converted to the eVisa are using the BRP number to log in now and I don’t think this will change after December 2024. This might be why they said you shouldn’t throw it away after creating your UKVI account. All the best!

Hi Cynthia, I am a student and my visa is supposed to end in 2 years. But on my BRP it shows that it ends this December 2024. But when I am completing this form online, it says my brp expires in December as well. Is that fine?

Yes, you are meant to include the date on your BRP card (December 2024) but when you create your eVISA and UKVI account, it should be able to state that your eVisa will end in 2 years and not December 2024. All BRP cards will end in December 2024. If you are confused, please contact the government as I am not an immigration advisor. All the best!

I am not sure about doing it outside Nigeria. I have not heard that you need to cut your BRP into two and post it to the Home Office. I have not seen anywhere this is written on the government website. If I get any information, I will share it on this channel. All the best!

Follow any instructions you find in an email sent to you by the Home Office. The instructions will differ based on your status in the UK. Wow! I have not encountered such a problem before. Did you try the style I explained in this video. I would suggest that you gave it a day or two and start your process again using your BRP for registration. If it persists, then contact the eVisa Department through their enquiry link on their website. Let me know how it goes. All the best!

That might be the reason. It is advised that you wait until you receive an email from Home Office. I guess that they are rolling it out gradually throughout the year. Check whether all the options on the last page of the application are green and ticked before you submit. All the best!

The one you used to sign in when you submitted your initial visa application. I doubt that you can submit a UK visa application without an email. As for the second question, I don't know. Contact the government. All the best!

Oh dear! So many people are experiencing this same problem. Can you try your passport instead of BRP or perhaps contact the eVisa department to report your issue. I pray that this gets resolved. When you resolve it, please can you share how it was resolved so that it can help others. I don’t have any solution for you because I didn’t experience this problem and those who complained about this issue in the comment section did not let me know how it was resolved. All the best!

Oh dear! That was my main challenge. Make sure your phone is amongst the required brands they asked. You can borrow someone’s phone to do I assume. When you get to that stage, first place the phone of the BRP, once it tells you to move it, move the phone slowly on the body of the BRP so that it can detect the chip, once it detects the chip and states that you should leave it, do so. The green bar will keep increasing until it completely reads the chip. I hope this helps! All the best!

Very good question! The government has not said anything about this at the moment. I am guessing that we need to hold on to it as we need the number on the BRP card each time we need access to the eVisa online. Can I add something here ? The way i did is as follows 1> used brp to create ukvi account and completed the evisa linking 2> once I have evisa setup done, I updated my id document as passport in the same ukvi account.. To add passport as Id document you need to goto update your details section and then select update personnel section and then scroll to the bottom of that page. You will see update id document section.. it asks you to upload your passport personal details page by taking its picture and then submit. You would receive an email confirmation once if document is updated on your account From that time on you would be able to use passport number to login to ukvi to see your evisa.. both your passport and brp details would be there..

@@shalinig6646 Oh okay I understand what you mean now. To be sincere, I don’t know. You can ask the government for advice. Visit their website and call them. On the other hand, I have heard of people in this comment section completing their application without any email invitation. I am not an immigration advisor so I don’t really know how this works. There is still time for you to complete an application. The deadline is the end of December 2024. All the best!

Follow the instructions in this video, watch it closely. This is the aspect I struggled with. Try using your passport if you are struggling with your iPhone. Try another person’s phone. Contact the eVisa department and report your problem. All the best!

Thank you. The chip is embedded in the card and not visible in new cards. “Place your phone on the card, making sure that the top of the phone covers the card without overlapping it.” Follow all the instructions in the video to read the card. It works! All the best!

Hi If you don’t intend to travel out of the UK, wait a month or two then you call the government and find out. Perhaps you can call the government and find out now. This is not immigration advice but I don’t think they would prioritise your data to be transferred to the eVISA platform because the deadline for converting your BRP to an eVISA is the end of December 2024. This means you can still use your BRP until then. This is just my opinion. Call them to confirm anything you read online. I wish you the best!

@@josepheloka3826 That was the same stage I struggled with. Try the tips I shared. Leave the phone on the BRP for a few seconds while you read the screen and follow instructions when it says you should move the phone slowly to read the chip. When it says leave it so that it can read the chip do so and after the green bar reading it is complete, move the phone. If you struggle use another phone. Choose a phone that is amongst the list suggested. All the best!

Hi, i did use a passport to create an ukvi account. Everything went ok, but seems like everyone here use their brp to create an account for e visa.. when i log in to see my status it says that ive got ilr so i guess its ok.. but then do we need to keep logging in to show our status or does immigration will scan our passport or brp and they will see it in their computer our status? Its so confusing. What about foreign airports would they be updated cos they usually check brp before they let you in their country

I don’t really know as I have not tried travelling out recently. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. If you used your passport to create your UKVI account, I think it is better than using a BRP. Infact someone in the comment was suggesting that anyone who uses a BRP to create their UKVI Account can switch to a passport since the passport can be extended and renewed but a BRP cannot. What he wrote to makes sense. We are all winging it here. We will be fine. Don’t have to worry about this, I am sure that the government has made provision that anytime someone presents the document they used to create their eVisa, the immigration authorities will be able to access it on their computer. Thanks for the reply! I hope it will go smooth though because thats my worry, i remember before when i was travelling to spain they stopped me because even if ive got a brp its still not enough for them to let me in i was in a queue and i hold up people looking at me like im an illegal immigrant its so embarrasing, probably after 20 mins or so after phone call etc i got let in. But yeah i guess if its attached to our passport and they will just scan it then i guess it will be ok :) thank you again and lets hope us brp holder will have smooth journey!

Hi. I finally found the solution. If you use the brp to register and not working. Create an account again and use your passport. If you use your passport and did not work please use the BRP. I did this and it works. I created a new account again using my passport as the brp didnt work for me. Hope this helps

Some people have complained about a similar problem. They haven’t shared how the rectified the problem, unfortunately I can’t help you. I can only share some suggestions that could work. Give it a rest and try another day. Try using a passport instead of the BRP card or another 📱 phone. If problem persist, call the government. @@alimalik1086 There is something wrong. Mine came in less than 10 minutes. This is not immigration advise. What I would do if I were in your shoes is to 1. Open my application to see whether all the boxes are ticked and submitted. They must all turn green. 2. Try to open my eVisa account to see whether it is there. 3. Contact the eVisa enquiry department and report the problem. Please let me know how it goes. It would help others going through the same in the future. All the best!

Once you complete the steps here, you can visit the email that the UK government sent you and then log in to view your eVisa. The reference number is not the eVisa. The eVisa is the information containing your personal details shown on your UKVI account. All the best!

@@stephengbenga4137 Yes, you should receive an email that dates that your eVisa is ready to view. Some people are complaining about this same problem. How I wish they can share how they solved it. That email should arrive in your email in a few minutes. I guess lately it has been taking longer to arrive. Just give it time and let us know how long it takes to arrive or if you had to contact the eVisa department to make a complaint. All the best!

It is meant to be an easy process however reading the comments section, people are experiencing challenges in different stages. The most common challenge in this comment is reading the chip and no form created after the UKVI account has been created. The software engineers at eVisa department really need to keep working on optimising these stages.

You need to apply for another visa before your visa expires to legally stay in the UK. The eVisa is only a replacement for BRP. Once your new visa has been approved then you can follow any instructions given to you by the home office on how to replace your BRP with an eVisa. @@cynthiaacademythank you so much for the update 🙏 i jst found out that whoever hold ilr visa They doesn't have to apply for another visa to legally stay in the UK. As long as they applied for evisa. However I also submitted application to replace the brp and they didn't change me any money. if anyone apply for BRP RC visa to replace ilr they maybe ask them to come for biometric. I wasn't sure so i did apply for brp re and evisa before my visa expired. Let's see I'm jst waiting for my appointment to attend the biometric. Bt my solicitor said I don't have to do anything. Best option is speak to your solicitor. I guess

For example, I don’t know that you were due to apply for an ILR. I will only give my suggestion based on what you have written. Yes, you don’t need a visa to stay in the UK if you have an ILR. Congratulations on your baby. Apologies I don’t know but I think you need to apply for a visa first. Once you have an approved visa for baby then the home office will be able to send you an invitation to apply for an eVisa through the email on the visa application. They said you have to do so when they have set it up and sent you an email. That is the instruction on their website. Of course some people are successful when they didn’t wait for the email. But if you read this comment section, you will see some people complaining of having no form when they try to set it up without the email. I wouldn’t suggest people should go against the instructions because there is still enough time till December 2024 unless it is urgent. All the best.

Exactly, place your phone camera on the BRP, read the instructions on the app. When it asks you to move it slowly to detect the chip , do so. When it says stop moving it as it is loading do so. Don’t move it until the green bar is complete. I explained these steps on the video. All the best!
