Something about Steve Ells creeps me out. He might be a “chef” and have a lot of money, but just something about him is not very genuine. Also, the fact of how his restaurant chain Chipotle has had one controversy after another has only served to shore up my suspicion of him. I’ve ate at Chipotle before and to be quite honest, it’s OK but I’ve had much better at authentic Mexican restaurants.
Chipotle is a great example of a good idea that at scale, just loses some of its uniqueness. Consistency restaurant-to-restaurant just doesn’t exist for Chipotle.
