I’m sure you’re just posting this ironically but I have seen that happen before with geldings that had back pain so they associated getting saddled with someone about to hop on a put pressure on their painful back! Some cbd and lil bit of pain management helped a LOT
This is why I don't understand why breeders don't strive for hoof quality and harness when selecting breeding stock. Color? Sure. Body structure? Absolutely. Stamina? Give that beast a ribbon. Hoof quality? Eh, we'll just see what happens i guess
Ugh. They arnt supposed to trim the frog all the way down! Only if it isn’t level with the rest of the foot! They arnt supposed to go all the way down and trim it bear.
@Kim Morton-Diehl Yes the fleshy v-shaped part in the center is the frog, and yes it should (mostly) be left alone. Its meant to be a load-bearing part of the foot, like the sole of our shoes, especially the arch-support ones. It should be pretty much level with the contacting parts of the hoof, and it does shed itself for the most part every so often. Pretty much just making sure that nothing can be caught under the frog in the grooves is all that *needs* doing. -even in that case, its usually best to just be sure to pick feet regularly rather than cut it back, as it grows in order to protect the foot where needed.
I love seeing these then looking at the comments to find people who have never owned a horse or even been near one are saying "tHiS hUrTs ThE hOrSe" get your facts in order
Este es un trabajo muy bueno me sorprende que todavía haya gente pensando que esto les hace daño créeme que recibirás un mensaje muy claro cuando lastimaste a un caballo
I went to a horse camp for a month and this is not how I do it I make the V than I go around it but my teacher said that it would hurt the horse if you do it on the V but I guess yours is a different horse that likes to get hurt or you guys have different horses
The only time a horse's hoof is sore after the farrier is done is if the farrier screwed up, or if they stay true to the joke of waiting until the farrier is 10 minutes down the road and then yank a shoe off.
