I love how you take your CHiPmania to another level and actually hunt down these locations. My brother and I loved this show as kids. The cars crashing and the chases were what we watched it for. Now, I like watching it to see how things looked back in the late 1970s and early '80s, when I was just coming into consciousness. The cars, the pop culture (disco and punk) the fashions, the look of the buildings that have now gone. It's just such a nostalgic watch.

The real star of CHiPs was the city, which is one of the reasons I moved here back in 1981, and why CHiPs was one of my favorite shows. I spent the first month I moved here cruising around on the freeways exploring, it was so cool to take a loop and spot the CHiPs headquarters. THANKS !! The next best thing to time travel, I even spotted my favorite car parked on the curb at 1:41, a 1978 Dodge/ Mitsubishi Challenger(silver with a black bottom). Appreciate the time travel match-ups. 😎👍👍

Believe it or not, but the karate episodes got me interested in the martial arts. Same with motocross. Those two episodes really lit the fire under me as a kid. Too bad I wasn't the stud with the girls like old Ponch.

You’re great on these C.H.I.P.s locations. Being from Los Angeles, you know all the places. I loved that show. I used to go to church with my parents on Saturday night, come home, and C.H.I.P.s would be on. It was my favorite show until the end. I remember watching “Battle of the network stars” too. When Eric Estrada was on it and members of “The Love Boat” etc. The best time to be alive in North America, now, not at all😭

Very cool. Danny Bonaduce was in 3 episodes. He was Freddie, Jon’s nephew’s (Wes Miller)friend that stole cars.

Great work, l’m a big CHiPs fan. Growing up in the rainy UK and seeing big blue sky’s and big white smiles in California was amazing. Any plans to cover the CHP-BMX episode? CHiPs introduced me to skateboarding and BMX which I still love doing ! Can’t wait for more episodes 🙏🙏🙌🙌

Great stuff, I think the other Danny Bonaduce episode was the one where him and John's nephew were lifting cars. That would be a good one.

Another great CHiPs video Kurt. One of the things I didn’t like about season 4 is that they lost the use of the 210 freeway that was being built, so they had to do a lot of filming on side streets, which the CHP doesn’t patrol. But they had to make do with what they had I guess. And like you said, this is one of three episodes where Bear draws his firearm. The others being “Rainy Day” and “Peaks and Valleys”. The other Danny Bonaduce episode is “Family Crisis” that would be a good one to do locations on. Also “Disaster Squad” where Ponch rescues a boy in the LA viaduct. Great video, thanks for sharing. 👍

That Yamaha place actually used to be a Harley-Davidson dealership. HD of L.A. Funny enough, on the southside of the Lucy's drive in parking lot, was a Partridge Family replica bus(if not the original). Lucy's used it as storage. Guessing at some point during filming of this "Karate" episode, good ol' Danny must've seen it and let out one of his signature "ohhh brother" disgust sighs! 🤣

I've been living in that area where the McDonald's is since 1999 and i remembered when the cvs was being build in 2016

That bridge in the beginning is probably the pedestrian bridge that went over the Harbor Fwy. @ 21 St that was demolished just last month ( Jan. 2024 )

It's very sad to see how run down and derelict L.A is now compared to the 80s and 90s. seeing graffiti everywhere and homeless. Not just this video all of them show it.
