I got quite a controversial statement that most arnt going to like. No antique tractors or trucks are “better” than the others. It really depends on who you are and what you need. You can prefer an ih, I’m a Deere guy because that is what I prefer, but ain’t nothin wrong with Oliver allis or ih. For someone to just go out and say “oh Deere is better than ih” they’ve probably never owned an ih in their life or operated one. Now some do have their perks, like ih torque amplifiers or fords without live hydrolics or an overrun pto. I like deeres because they are very simple with the two cylinder and they are easy to get attatchments for considering they never had specialty ones like farmall or allis. Not that I wouldn’t love a nice farmall M but I would prefer a Deere A more just because that’s what I think is cool. Just because I like one brand doesn’t mean I don’t like the others. Same goes for trucks. If you are looking for a cheap durable work truck dodge is what you need. If you need something to pull a trailer with that is good on fuel, go get yourself a ford. Now with modern tractors that’s a whole nother story because some are better than others. Tell ya right now kinze makes a better planter than Deere. I love the channel. I hope you never stop making videos. Have a good day. 💥

Kind of reminds me of my dad. For years he farmed with F-20 and B Farmall. Out of nowhere a M Farmall showed up. Giant leap forward. A few years go by and F-20 was gone. Replaced by C Farmall. Giant leap forward again. Super M showed up. Wow, 3 tractors. 450 showed up. First M was gone. Able to do field work in hours instead of days. Mostly what I see in your recent purchases is just how amazed you see what more power can do for you. Just like my dad. Getting advice from so many people can be good or bad. Depends all on what works and what works for you. I enjoy your videos. Most of all I enjoy how you set up your equipment for your use. Thanks

We always chisel plowed at a angle and then deep disked at a slightly different angle. That's what breaks up the big clodes and then likely disk the direction of planting for a great seadbed.

If you really want to turn some dirt with the chisel, put some 3” twisted shovels on. But it will pull harder. A mounted spike tooth harrow would really smooth it out.

We used a similar chisel plow. Works great when you get it deep in the ground. Loosens up all the compacted ground and loosens it up for the disc. You're gonna like the results better than a plow probably. Helps with those wet spots in the fields of PA.

I really enjoy your videos, Im originally from Mercer county,PA and grew up on a small dairy farm. Hearing those Farmall tractors take me back in time, First tractor I drove was a 606 , We had a H but didn't use it for much, running the blower filling silo or cultivator duty and had a blade for snow on the front. Last tractor I was operating was a Hydro 70 that was a great tractor in my opinion. Take care and thank you for letting me hear those Farmall tractors

We used the chisel to stir the top 5 or 6 inches. This would mix the grain stubble in so we could plow down a blended soil profile instead of plowing down a mat layer of organic matter. A 3pt 55 chisel plow 11 shanks, 966 in what we called 5th gear, hi range 1st TA forward. No suitcase weights 18.4-R38 duals, no rear weights. Pulled great for years.

The biggest IH tractor we had was an early 706 diesel with the lesser diesel engine and clamshell fenders, narrow front and quick hitch. We did have the 3pt conversion parts. It was a good tractor for us in Sandy central Wisconsin. Pulled 4-16 semi mounted plow easily. We baked hay a lot with it as well. Never had any problems with the engine. The parking brake pawl gave way while the tractor was moving and took out a bunch of gears. To me, that’s just a stupid parking brake design . Let’s set the parking brake by jambing some iron in the transmission gears. Overall it though it was a good tractor for us

Here we call them deep tillage cultivators. We always pull harrows behind them and it helps a lot with smooth. We don't dare disc in our clay ground that much otherwise it's too fine and becomes concrete. Now your Farmall M (Not Super MTA) will not only pull 7 shanks but will pull them deeper than you think it will. The Super MTA will of course handle it better, but the M will do it. We don't use the suitcase weights at all here. The primary purpose of suitcase weights is to counterbalance mounted implements. For drawbar work, they're seldom necessary.

The object is to work the ground as little as possible. Less expense per acre the more profit from the crop. Also the more you drive over the ground the more compaction you have. Duels will let you work ground a bit more wet but it does spread out the compaction. It's just me but I would have brought out the disc after the chisel. The more you chisel the lumpy it becomes. Still I believe your going down a foot where you used to plow 6 to 8 inches so you are breaking up dirt so the rain can drain the the roots can go down in the ground. From the video I didn't notice any wheel slippage. You need a bigger plow or you need to put something else behind the plow.

Should custom a turbo... you might make 110pto hp. You should be able to pull a 10 shank chisel plow. For now you should be able to pull 9 shank fine. Got to add the duals. My 74 case 1270 hub duals 135pto hp I'm able to pull 11 shank krause chisel plow 8 inches in the ground at 2100rpm pto rated..

@@meateaterwhitetail7291 You don't have to add a Turbo...You can just turn the pump up

@@FarmallFanatic that's ur call... me personally if I want to pull a 20ft disc, 24ft field cultivator and a 10 shank chisel. I'd look for a 1086 with duals.. 130pto hp you can pull as much implements as what a 150 and 180 pto hp tractor can pull... dad had a 1066 it was a nice tractor pulling a 15ft jd disc.. I brought my 1270 for a good price. But I had to rebuilt the powershift along with new starter, hydraulic couplers.. I'd get ih. But there just too expensive to buy...

@meateaterwhitetail7291 If you want to pull larger implements you need a bigger tractor... plain and simply put

I don't think its is necessary to chisel plow in two directions. Just an opinion not hating.

Someone really said you talk too much in YOUR videos? On YOUR channel? Wow. What are you supposed to do? Maybe he needs to leverage the closed caption feature. 😂😂😂 BTW. Did you find plowing in other direction necessary? I think it will disc up fine, but you are definitely in for a rough ride. 😂😂😂
