Two episodes on the same day? This is the perfect start to my weekend! I'm still elated to see you return to the vehicle that launched many friendships, and helped this community grow beyond all others. I agree that The Senator must have felt rather dull when you've become accustomed to the Wolfman. I have always remarked to Manny, Kevy, and Tony Tony about your sensitivity to detect tallow. That seems to be a unique ability that is almost ironic for a wet shaver. I used my Seillean yesterday. Tomorrow, Ian Thomson (The Gentleman's Groom Room) is having his annual wet shavers meetup there, in Dundee. Kevy is hopefully going to get some footage. He was supposed to last year, but had too many distractions, I wish we all could attend. Even just for the afternoon. I'd come home broke, but happy. Are you still using the Fatip Grande, or has Chrissy claimed it?
Alex De Leon Hahaha. Chrissy has claimed it, but I use it occasionally still. I think I’ll pull it out for my next shave. :) I hope he can get a little footage too. I wish we could all go as well. What a trip that would be!!!!
Great shave Cap! I enjoy the Ghost Town Barber shaving soap myself...awesome stuff. I have the sister razor to the Senator...a Sheraton. I must say my Sheraton is one close shaving instrument. The only downside is the razor burn if the operator isn't careful...guilty. lol. lastly, Scotland trip in August 2019...hoping to meet up with the Dundee crew at the Gentleman's Groom Room. Take care.
William Emil Celeiro I usually Face Lather myself, but I bowl Lather every once in a while. I think, for those who do it, it’s all about the process of doing it. Seeing the Lather being built and all. Plus, I can get more Lather when I build it in a bowl.
Cap7597 Thank you for responding. I gave up on the bowl as my lathers are always way too thin. Then I thought better to face lather as that's more time to soften my beard. Please have a safe and happy upcoming week. CHEERS!
That's funny, I always bowl lather because I can control the amount of water better and I always get a nice dense lather no matter what soap or cream I use. If your lather is way too thin, you've added too much water...simple as that.
Eric Majewski Welcome to the joy of shaving. My all time favorite Soap is Mitchell’s Wool Fat, but it’s a little picky so not good to start with. A great Soap to start with is Proraso Green with the matching Aftershave. You can get it in the tube as a cream (I prefer) or a tub as a Soap ( you have to use a little more water). Either the Semogue 1305 or 830 are great brushes! I really like a berry bowl from Walmart. But the Shave Bowl Traveller in this video is a good one too. Those items will get you going. After you get more comfortable, there are a lot of great Artisan soap makers that are good to use. Chiseled Face, WSP, Phoenix Artisan, Phoenix and Beau, Maggard’s..... the list can go on and on. Haha.
Eric Majewski I prefer the sink with Safety Razors. One, it’s the experience of taking a little time out of your day and doing nothing else but enjoying a shave.... cheesy, I know. Ha. Second, you can here the blade cut better. Third, you will be able to control your Lather better outside of the shower. But, you can always try both. I like to watch others on here and at least try their methods. Then tweek it to suit me. :)
Cap7597 one last question cap sorry trying to get this right lol. My facial hair is pretty thick and I have to shave every day what is the best blade for this?
