won CMA Song of the Year in 1989. Max D. Barnes, who wrote this song with Vern Gosdin would also win CMA Song of the Year in 1992 for writing "Look at Us" with Vince Gill.
Music is the closest thing we have to a time machine. Still listening to this great music. Ear buds in blasting that music and locked the world outside. I can relate to this song. Still here October 2024!!!!
I saw Vern in person..when he sang this song I stood up and yelled vern I love you..he looked my way..I will never forget that...long time ago..I still love him
This song hits home, I lost my best friend and husband. It makes you think about all the things you didn't get to do, and wished you said I love you more. 😪❤️
This is as much my story RIGHT NOW, as anyone. Considering myself a Classic Country music lover, and an able rhythm guitar player with abilities to "cover" certain artists...... Vern is impossible. I only heard when I was around 15 years old (1987), that he actually got his start singing Gospel music. I love his music that much more.
Me, I'm recently widowed from my first love, we parted ways in our teens, reconnected 52 years later on FB.. we were so in love, and had each other 7 years, and God called him home. I am lost without him. 💔
So Sorry for your loss of your Dear husband...Keep your friends close to help you through your darkest Days..Prayers for Peace, Strength and, Comfort..🙏🙏🙏
