In this video, we discussed the story of Arjuna's third wife Chitrangada. She was the only daughter of Manipur King Chitravahana. Arjun and Chitrangada had a son Babruvahana. Who later killed Arjuna in a battle. Also, we gave a summary of the famous opera 'Chitrangada' by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

The Hymns of Mahabharat says Arjun went to the East of Mahendra Hills (Kalinga) than he founded the Manipura.Even Kamrup (Gauhati was mentioned) so its true that he came to North East.Bishnu Purans also says that Manipura location is Near to Lauhitya River (Brahmaputra Assam) so its clear that its North East Manipur.

Please mention the exact location of Manipur. I think it is not related with the State of Manipur located in NE India. The name Manipur located in NE India was given in 18 century. First its name was not Manipur but Kangleipak. It has unique history. Please don't create confusion to the people and try to explain the exact location of the story.

Arjuna didn't meet/call Chitrangada after birth of their child. Arjuna had forgotten both. So Chitrangada brought up a child alone and never say him about his father. After years passing, when child become mature and ask repeatedly about his father, Chitrangada asked him to defeat Arjuna first, then after she will tell name of his father. So Babaluvahan kill Arjuna..... Is this right story ??

Possibly the Manipur which is mentioned in the epic of Jaya/Vijaya is different from present day State of Manipur. The references of the kingdoms which are found in Jaya/Vijaya are taken from real kingdoms/mahajanapadas in the ancient India. The mahajapadas were not spread beyong assam (Anga) so Today's Manipur is not the one which is mentioned in the Epic.

I'm a Manipuri and till date I haven't heard about this history of king and the princess. I believe almost every Manipuri haven't heard about this history. It's not Manipura. It's Manalur where King Chitrasena was ruling. I think it was confused with the present Manipur by some story translator.

Jagadnath rath yatra started in 19th century in manipur, after meitei king gambhir singh came back from silhet, there's a beautiful story about religious tolerance related to that... read it. And if ur ancestors were living in manipur or kangleipak, u were never kicked out, ur ancestor fled from there after Burmese invasion that even happened in assam. That's not a very far that that part of the history will be erased. And also meitei are not tribe, I think u people are considered scheduled caste, meitei have long history of more than 3000 years, even mentioned in Guinness books about polo games. So now stop eating ur khayali pulow, accept that u are a mix of assamese and bengali seeing at ur language, proof is that there is no language similarities with other communities and urs. Don't do false claims.

My first question! Where is this Manipur? 2nd question! Is Mahabharat real? 3rd question! When did it happen! 4th question! Do you think the manipur of Mahabharat is current state Manipur? Cause Manipur name of current state of India was given to it after 1700 during the rule of king pamheiba when Bengali priests came. That's why you find Bengali scripts used in Manipur. As they change name of the land along with writing scripts, religion etc. So I kindly request you all to search where is this manipur of Mahabharat! As current state of India was call Manipur before 1700(pre British Raj info).

This is separate only Arjuna exile not the Pandava exile after dice game....Here Arjuna broke the law of entering into draupadi and yudhistir room....So he had undergone 12 yr exile for self repentance

I would advise whoever is narrating your stories in English, pronounce the words properly. It’s sad in spite of you making it in a universal language, you do not convey it well. As far as the names in the Mahabharata, why don’t you say it completely, the script says Chitravahana but you pronounce as chitravahan. It’s with every character you do this. When telling a story you need to have proper diction. This is a constructive thought. Best wishes.
