What a performance! This rare song is an out of the world rendering by the genius called TMS. But Madhu has taken it to a different level. Not only it is portrayed in color, but Madhu''s appearance and expressions are picture perfect. Her voice is so sweet, that she has flavored it with honey and laced it with passion. Simply incredible. Than you Madhu.

Ilayaraja n before, Tamil cinema has had the excellent music directors whose notes were, inspiration drawn from carnatic music. MSViswanathan, a malayalee, contributed a lot. Mahadevan too contributed to wonderful songs. All with background of carnatic music.

A classical hit song, sung with a Classical (Carnatic) flavor at a leisurely pace - was like listening to the old Carnatic songs of the sangeedha mumoorthigal (MS, DK Pattammal and MLV) in the LP gramaphone (HMV) record player. For choosing this song, Chitiram Pesudhadi (Ragam: Thilang ??? or Khamas ???) from Sabash Meena it is Sabash Madhu (the reigning Retro queen in this Metro :-) Strongly recommend this video as a lullaby to put babies to sleep, insomaniacs and to the senior and super senior citizens finding it hard to fall asleep at night...it is so soothing to listen to. MADHU + ChithiRUM = MADHURUM

A classical hit from TMS from the sivaji ganesan starrer Sabash Meena released in 1958 (some 65 years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, just kidding). There is a female version of this song in the same movie sung by soolamangalam rajalakshmi, though not as popular as the TMS version. TMS - This Man was a Superb singer.
