The bass player is Yoshihiro Naruse (CASIOPEA-P4) and the drummer is Satoshi Bandoh (T-SQUARE). Both are superstars in the Japanese jazz fusion world. Chizuru is lucky to be able to play with the best.

Chizuru! It's nice to find some of her non-Jazz Avengers stuff on RU-vid. I bought her cd and two EPs last week. Between Chizuru, saxophonists Ami Nakazono and Miku Yonezawa and bassist Juna Serita the Jazz Avengers are costing me some money in cd purchases.

Same as you Ryan loved it so much. Already liked Chizuru from seeing her in the Jazz Avengers, but so good seeing her here totally cut loose, just fantastic. And wow the guy on the bass was just awesome. I had kind of started to think the best players on bass in Japan were women, listening to the likes of Misa, Fami, Junas, Rina, Kiyoshi, Koga, Wakazaemon etc, but this guy totally blew my supposition out of the water. I guess Japan just has a plethora of awesome musicians regardless of gender or genre.

Well, he is Yoshihiro Naruse of Casiopea, probably much better known in Japan than the bassists you mentioned. Casiopea is one of the most prominent jazz fusion bands in Japan. BTW, he is also a visiting professor at the Tokyo College of Music, and it seems that Akihito Tokunaga, lyricist/composer of everyone's favorite (?) Band-Maid song "Don't Let Me Down," was one of his first students.

Mr. Naruse is the second generation bassist of CASSIOPEIA, the first being Tetsuo Sakurai. Mr. Naruse is known for his slap bass, and Mr. Sakurai is a bassist who values melody. Sakurai's bassist can be seen on ``Sailing Alone / [ Senri BeeHive Session Vol.4 ]👈Seach,'' and the drummer is Senri Kawaguchi , who was 14 years old.

She released 2 EP's in 2016 and 2017, but finally released a full album this month or last month with a lot of rerecorded tracks on it (like this one). It is certainly worth checking out. I noticed that she did a streamed live set a week ago just a day before the VOD closed, so I was lucky enough to catch it just in time. It was fantastic, she really is a great musician and she just can't stop smiling when she plays either.

I just remembered that she is doing a birthday live set on June 6th, which also seems streamed on twtcstng (called 瀬川千鶴 Birthday Live ). I will certainly get a ticket for that one when it's a little closer to that date.

Wow! Just wow, as you said! Chizuru remindet me a little of Tomo-zo, because she also is always smiling. Noticed her as a good guitarist at The Jazz Avengers, but in this one she shows of how good she really is. And that bass player - man, what a crazy guy in a good way! Thank's once more for that reaction.

WOW, I was picking up on your comment about the arrangement of the bass guitar around the guitar and drums…you’re right, it’s pretty sweet in this song. The dance between standing out in front and following behind was something I enjoyed back when I played too. Biggest challenge was always trying to understand the walking baseline before I jumped around the other instruments. Wonderful song, great request Russ H., and thank you Ryan from reaction and discussion! 🤘
