Nice buddy, got your message about this! Is it easy to cut the hole out of the choate?

Awsome! How did you do this? Do you have something like a instruction? Or some pictures of what you exactly did? I really would like to do this, too! :-)

Hi I was wondering if you still have this choate stock and could take some pictures of the inner workings of the spring you made as I am interested in doing this to my own, thanks Garrett

I would like to help you but I don't have the stock or the spring anymore. It was an easy job. the aluminum part inside of the Choat stock is the perfect size for your mag box.The only thing you remove is plastic. There is a wed between that and the trigger cutout. The spring I made hooked over that web between the bottom of the receiver and the aluminum web. Then It went down the backside of the mag box and had a hook in it that was the right length to latch the mag. The only hard part was getting the right positioning for that hook. Start high and work down. The spring was about 1/8 thick and 3/8 wide. Good luck

How did you mill out the hole for the magazine to fit in and what are you using to hold it in?? Thanks

Milling the hole was easy. It's just the plastic material. I have a milling machine but I used a drill and a file. There is aluminum around the mag well but not on the bottom. The latch was a simple spring. attached to the web between the trigger and the mag well. You don't even need to screw it in place. the action holds it by pinching it between the bottom of the receiver and the aluminum web between the trigger and mag well. I normally screw it in place but you don't need to if you make the spring the right thickness. I made this video for Choate. I thought they would want to see how easy it is to do but they were not interested. I was going to make the springs and sell them. But I didn't get much interest. You can see the bottom of the spring in the video. It goes up from there and has a lip the works as the catch to hold the magazine. Then up and over the web in front of the trigger with a tail that comes down 1/4 inch into the trigger cutout. That holds it in place.
