1/2 Cups All purpose flour (130g)
2 Tbs (20g) cocoa powder (unsweetened chocolate powder)
1 cup caster sugar (130g)
1/2 cup + 1 Tbs (130g) Soften butter
2 x 2 oz (65g) eggs (cold)
9 g baking powder
1/2 cup (45g) milk
How to make the chocolate frosting
1/2 cup +3Tbs (100g) Icing sugar mix
1 Tbs (10g) cocoa powder
3 Tbs (40g) melted butter
1/4 Cup (40g) Thick milk
(use extra milk if frosting is too hard)
Important tips
Understand your oven temperature on baking the cake (convention and fan forced oven behave bit differently)
Bake the cake at 302 Fahrenheit for 40 minutes in fan forced oven
Do not over beat your cake ingredients, over beating create a dense cake due loosing the trap air
Use your eggs cold when you add cold eggs in butter, it will helps to trap the air to create the volume so helps to make the cake soft and fluffy
Use the mixer at low speed while mixing the flour in the batter. Do not mix it more than 30 seconds
Add milk at last and mix only few seconds.
