Love this, you're so right sometimes the simplest things are the best. Also is it just me, or is anyone else wondering what the white box with the blue spots on the draining board in the background is???
This Video is such soothing to watch! Sam, it literally feels like im watching a movie!❤❤ such amazingly shot! Also his house is dreamy! Even i want a kitchen like his .... with a blackboard in my kitchen🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯 love x i cant stop adoring you guys!
I love the concept of mindful baking! I have two small children, so “me time” is sparse, but I really enjoy baking - and with a simple recipe like this it makes it much much easier for me to actually do it! ❤️
Love your concept of mindful baking. What good timing given what’s been happening in the world. You have a gentle approach to sharing your gifts. Thank you!
Omg sally your capable of baking ANYTHING!! Such a pro! Who else wants a baking party with sally? I DO! she’s so fun to watch and I bet to be around with 🤣😍
My daughter and I baked these yesterday and she had some much fun making short bread Easter biscuits with mini eggs instead of chocolate chips. This was so well explained especially that it would look like it wasn’t working but to persevere. Thank you Sally❤
After a stressful day at work, sitting down with a cup of tea to watch this video was the perfect antidote. I'd love to see more content like this! Perhaps you could make a traditional fruit pie, scones or bread 🥰
Lovely, definitely going to make these and lower the sugar quantity as I'm watching my sugars. Came to the shop yesterday, Dane was there he is fabulous. X
Oh, I’m SO jealous! Was it a magical experience? I hope so! Re: sugar - have you ever tried monkfruit in place of sugar? I use it almost exclusively in my baking and it tastes so much like regular sugar. Enjoy your baking!
I baked today! We are having friends over for Pizza Friday and I love having a sweet treat for dessert. I will make these when my mum comes to visit in 3 weeks!
I almost cried during this video, so I got up from my couch and made some of these gorgeous and delicious cookies! Thanks for reminding us of our essence to love doing what we do: baking! 💖
Thanks for sharing this with us. We all adore Sally, we've been very vocal about that. I’m glad that Sam is getting some credit, too, though. His filming and editing work is always superb. You two make a great team.
This 🙌 i love the whole idea behind this and reminding ourselves why we loved our hobbies etc in the first place. It would be great to see more! Thanks Sally! Gona make some of those biscuits for visitors over the weekend!
I LITERALLY looked for this recipe on your page last weekend to make with the kids but couldn't find it and used an inferior recipe so I'm so glad you've posted this! Thank you!
So I made these but used salted butter cos thats what I had and were amazing. Think I might put lemon zest in next tim too .... Thanks Sally you're the best x
I just love everything about your videos the music, videography, the amazing recipes and clear explanations. This is why I've subscribed to this channel for almost three years😌
Sally another favourite thing I like to do with recipes like this is to make them into a long tube, wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for a bit. Then when I pull it out, slice and bake as usual :D
Made these today and they are DELICIOUS, very easy to make if you follow the video. Only difference is I put in maple extract instead of vanilla, because I love the taste of maple. Only "hard" part was putting the cut cookies on the baking sheet, but if you use something like a knife it is simple. Also, I will be putting more choccolate chips next time because I love them too!!!
God bless you!! I love to cook, but seeing you is also nice. Your smile and your energy is relaxing and make me smile also. You transmit peace!! I’m a Long-Hauler from Mexico, that ‘s why I can’t cook now, but it’s nice to see you do it and enjoy it!! ✨✨✨💐
I really need this. It's been difficult this year and this time too for me that I haven't been baking. Cookies are one of the things I love to make all the time, but my memories go back to the brownies that my mom would make. There's no nuts or anything fancy, just brownies with some chocolate chips and it makes me so happy. Keep up with this new series
Honestly Sally, amazing video! I was actually doing yoga while listening to/watching the video and usually the pace is too fast for me to really relax (you're obviously not making videos for yoga xD) but this one is sooo perfect! I also LOVE the idea of mindful baking: recently I make Key Lime Pie and croissants for my family, as though I am perfectionist and am very hard on myself, these times I felt very satisfied with my bakes. But I feel like now it's my family who find little things to perfect (and I'm not saying it's not needed ^^) while I'm happy with what I baked, so thank you for reminding me that I am doing my best and it's as good as I can bake for now! Also, (if I may :o ) I've always found you look like Emma Watson in your way of talking and I hope I'm not saying something I shouldn't but you both are gorgeous and very interesting people :) So that's that, and thank you once more
hi sally! Thanks for another simple buy yet an amazing recipes for easy homebakes. Its all go down to basics. Not just an amazing baker but you have an amazing charisma that always bring smiles while watching your videos. Lots of love.
Shortbread are my absolute favorite cookies. I like to roll the dough into a log and keep it in the fridge. Then when I'm ready, I just slice up a few coins and bake them. This prevents me from eating the whole batch 😁😂
Sally this was an excellent video. It took me back to my childhood and learning to bake with my gran, always with a bowl and spoon and not a mixer in sight. Sometimes the simpler recipes are the best🥰 how about a treacle tart next? 😍
caster sugar is next to impossible to get in the u.s. otherwise it's extremely expensive. should we grind down regular granulated sugar or is it ok to just substitute it? thanks!
This video and recipe came at the exact right time. After such a crazy, stressful couple of years I’ve learned the importance of being mindful and taking the time for self care. More mindful recipe vids please!!!
Watching this on a riany morning with a warm cup of tea... And it is soooo relaxing. Back to basics is always sooo nice, after we get caught up inelaborate baking, but this is what it all comes down to. It reminds me soooo much of the simple days when I used to bake with granny. The shortbreads are soooo cute. Thanx a lot and yeeees, some more of these vids in combo with the more elaborate ones! Balance is the key!
hey sally! thanks for another amazing video!! idk if u will see this but i rlly hope u do. when i make normal american buttercream its too sweet and u can kind of taste the sugar. i know ur recipes are amazing so i want to know what im doing wrong?
Wonderful video. Lovely biscuits. So simple my 3 year old did 80% of this herself. Very very proud of her & love Sallys videos. Can i ask? How long do these keep for? In an airtight container xx
I love shortbread!! Thank you for sharing this. I wonder if I make chocolate shortbread. I try to do it but the texture always still dry I dont know why. Could you please explain about it? 🥺
Lovely video. I do have a question. As I understand it, gluten only develops in the presence of water/liquid. So in this case, there is only butter and no liquids. There should not be much gluten development at all then even if you do work the dough?
