@@DroBowwNot a pain au chocolat. Pain au chocolat are made out of the same dough as croissants but they are rolled out in a rectangle with two bars of chocolate that is rolled in it next to each other separated by dough. This is just a chocolate puff pastry.
@BakedDaily nope. Croissant refers to the shape of the pastry. Pan au chocolate is make of the same pastry but is not called a croissant its called pain au chocolate. Lots of other shapes also have different names. Croissant only refers to the crescent shape. Thanks for asking and you're welcome.
Today, I woke up, and I wanted to eat a croissant, so I went to a place that sells croissant’s, and I bought a croissant. Then I returned home with the croissant, and then I proceeded to eat a croissant.
@@user-ej3sx4nw4obecause its not even croissant ppastry its just premade puff pastry theres no levening or rising or proofing which happens. Also pain au chocolate are not made with chocolate chips. And so these are an abomination which should not dare to call themslves choc croissaints.
200° c for 10 min or until golden brown, check your tray every 5 min to change position if needed. They should puff up nicely, not like the ones here. These are poorly made btw.
Guys. Plenty of people call pain au chocolat "chocolate croissants", it's not the end of the world. Technically incorrect but based on colloquial language this is fine.
@@chiekamijo5452 Croissants and pain au chocolat are both pastries. Moon cake and sun cake aren't even in the same genre of food. Also, nobody ever mixes up moon and sun cake. But people DO call pain au chocolat, chocolate croissants... again, colloquial.
This is not a pain au chocolate though. It is made with the same croissant dough but rolled in the final steps as a rectangle and with two bars of chocolate separated by dough. This is just a chocolate puff pastry.
for all of those posters on here trying to educate people by saying this is a pain au chocolate, i believe those saying this isnt a croissant (of any kind) mean the dough and techniques used are not those of a croissant (of any kind). these are closer to those horrid pillsbury crescent rolls.
This is NOT a “CROISSANT” Croissant originally means CRESCENT What you bake does NOT have the CRESCENT form. Can you imagine someone naming a cookie a brownie or naming a brownie a cookie ? This doesn’t make sens.
