The Professor is always telling us not to fight jiu jitsu. Instead you take whatever your partner gives you.
The chain of reaction doesn't work in your favour when you grip with your four fingers. The pinky gives up. So grip with two, improve the leverage, and make your chokes easier.
But let's say the neck is well defended. Well, this armbar variation from the back will serve as another option for you.
