Every now and then, your scooter sits a little longer than you intended. You can choke your scooter at the air filter box to help get it started. Give it a shot before taking your scoot to the dealership!
Your troubleshooting videos are very helpful. I have a problem with my 97 Vespa ET2 50. Whenever I fill it with fuel, It won't start the next day. I can only get it to move after a lot of tries kick-starting it, while holding full gas. Do you guys have any idea what I might be doing wrong? The fuel does not flow over, but it does drip for a while afterwards, I'd assume through some overflow valve.
Compression has been recently checked since the scooter vent through some major repairs, including engine to get optimal compression. Can't seem to find the drip source exactly, it's just on the ground under the fuel tank after it sits for a while. I started it with sweat, tears and kick only while holding the gas open for 3 days now. If I only stop for a short while, it starts well with electrical, but in the morning and after work, it gives me a half-body workout:)
I wish I could tell you where to check. It always comes down to a few things... Is it getting fuel? Does it have spark? and does it have compression? How does the spark plug look? From the very little information you have given me, I'm still betting a fuel / carburetor issue. :/
Are you talking about the kill switch? I'm not sure what you are referring to here, I'm sorry. It sounds like you are talking about the kill switch which needs to be on the circle, not the X. That is different than any choke. There isn't a manual choke.
What could be the scooters problem? when its cold its really fast 80kmh+ but when it gets warm it slows down to 55kmh and it really starts sputtering. (Its a purejet)
I just replaced my 50cc scooter muffler and I also brought a 20mm carborator I adjust it. And my bike is running smooth and the muffler is touchable. Not hot is that good or bad?
My scooter hasn't been sitting for a while (used it yesterday), but I had to choke it today. Its not particularly cold out. Why might this be? Dirty carb? Enricher not working? Thanks!
@@NewScooters4Less thanks for the quick response! I'll give that a try, maybe add a bit of fuel cleaner to it too. But I'll probably just take the carb out and do a full clean at some point when I have time.
Will this work for my cy50a tao tao it's cold here in ct and I kick started my moped it's like 20 degrees here and I only had it on once bit went back off so do you think this method would work
Are you able to keep your scooter inside somewhere? Your problem isn't a gunked-up carburetor or anything it doesn't sound like. It sounds like your problem is extreme cold. I would try to get my scooter in the warmth if at all possible. Scooters are just a pain in the butt to start when the engine is frozen over.
Hey there. Probably one of two things... 1. Idle is way too high: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v3G4tx3zcCY.html (try turning it down). Also make sure nothing is obstructing the throttle on the carb causing it to "stay open" 2. A clutch spring or something in the transmission is popped causing it to stick open like that. You would need to pop the transmission case off and inspect.
+Prank Nation Yep! We do all the time! In Gainesville, FL :) --> www.physicsforums.com/threads/why-engine-choke-works.632720/ Check out this link for a great explanation.
I choked it today and it worked but unfortunately i have other problems. So like when i start it, it runs but it'll start driving by itself & also when i push te throttle back, it dies...
Hello Collin! My name is Kacper. I just got my Suzuki Katana 50 imported from Poland to Sweden, and i was riding around my neighbourhood. and suddenly when i came back to my house, and shut the scooter off, i tried to turn the scooter on again. and it didnt want to start. the electric start was working, and the for some reason the scooter didnt start up, it was no problem starting it up first time, then suddenly my headlight stops working and my electric start also stops working, i try to jump start it and it also does not work. I can even make a video for you about it, because i describe it really weird. thanks for reading :) hope you know the issue.
+kacper skowronski Hey! Did you check to see if you have spark? It sounds like the bike may have lost spark. Here is a video... See if you can check the spark and let me know. Make sure the kill switch is in the right position before checking for spark too please. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aF9URBSB68o.html
+New Scooters 4 Less There is nothing wrong with the spark. I managed to kickstart it today, could it be because of the weather? And the engine is too cold? The battery works, but i think its just the electric starter that is broken or untached?
+kacper skowronski Possibly. When you turn the key on are you getting power to the blinkers, horn, or anything else electrical? It's not a simple fuse or anything is it? LMK.
i havnt checked the fuse yet im going to that tomorrow in the morning. ill give you more information after all im gonna post a video later tomorrow on this channel about it.
