Chole bhature is a very popular street food of Punjab. "Chole" is a spicy chickpea curry, accompanied with a very special kind of fried bread called" Bhature".
INGREDIENTS:-
For CHOLE:
Chickpeas 500g
tea bags 2
oil half cup
onion one medium size
bay leaves 3-4
cumin seeds 2 tsp
garlic 5-6 cloves finely chopped
ginger 1 inch piece finely chopped
tomato puree half cup
salt to taste
red chili powder 2-3 tsp
turmeric powder 1 tsp
garam masala 2 tsp
green chili 3-4 (diced)
lemon juice according to your taste
green chilies and finely chopped cilantro for garnishing
INGREDIENTS:
For BHATURE:
all-purpose flour 450g
salt 2tsp
baking powder 1/4 tsp
semolina 2 tsp
milk powder 3 tsp
water 1/2 cup
sugar 1 tsp
yeast 1 tsp
oil or ghee 1 tbsp
yogurt 1/4 cup
red chili flakes (optional) 1 tbsp
overnight soaked urid lentils(optional) 1 tbsp
