Choose the Best Allies for Adepta Sororitas armies in 10th edition of Warhammer 40,000 to win on the battlefield.
The sisters of battle are performing poorly at the moment in games of Warhammer 40,000. The 10th edition of 40k does allow us as Adepta Sororitas players to add some allies to our battle sisters.
Which ones are best?
Should you mainly look at the Imperial Agents Index?
Adeptus Arbites Exaction squads?
Vindicare assassins?
Inquisitors?
What about titans or imperial knights using the freeblades ability? Do we want warglaives or a larger imperial knight? Should we consider forgeworld units or stick to the index rules?

Thank you for all of your support for the Sororitas! The only thing I might consider Inquisitorial Henchmen for is using Mystics to deny Deep Strikes and such within 12". The shared Keywords issue will have to be addressed at some point... otherwise, Junith grants Fly to units she leads... I guess the squad just grabs ahold of the Pulpit and enjoys the ride. Also, she can somehow get in a Transport. I figure they just throw the Pulpit on top, or tow it behind...

Thank you for this video Christian. I've been really looking forward to this video for a while and it was wonderfully helpful. Your input has me reconsidering the Warglaives again after dropping them, and re-enforces some of my instincts and thoughts on the allied units. I also adore the new catchphrase of "That's masochism, not martyrdom." To echo the sentiment of others, thank you so much for all of your support for the Adepta Sororitas; your videos and advice have done wonders to mitigate the bad feels surrounding the current state of our index/faction and are always a delight to watch or even listen to. I can't wait for your next video!

Small correction to an otherwise very entertaining video: you can't actually use Precision to snipe special squad members like special/heavy weapon wielders or unit champions(even if the squad is being led by a character). The reason for this is because of the distinction between "units" and "models". While you're 100% correct in that a unit led by a character gains the Character keyword, the Precision rule works off of "models" and not "units", and since that random Battle Sister model with a flamethrower isn't a character "model"(just a model in a unit that happens to have the Character keyword) she isn't an eligible target for the rule. Hope that helps clear things up!

Adding to this, about Precision interacting with Toughness, Precision is after the wound roll, so in the case of the character having better toughness, or MUCH better in some cases, it doesn't help them and is wasted.

Hi! Really enjoying the info in your videos... Just stared playing Soritas and enjoying it so far. Just to add on a little more... In the Rules Commentary 1.0 pg 1-2 it talks about Attached units with Multiple Characters specifically referencing using PRECISION. "Some units [... ] can contain more than one CHARACTER " suggesting that we can't consider every model in the unit to be a CHARACTER and going on to say PRECISION attacks have to be allocated to a visible model with CHARACTER and doubling down on that with the next section "Attached units with multiple Characters (no more than two)" saying you can't have more than two CHARACTER models in a unit again suggesting that every model in the unit doesn't become a CHARACTER.

Sniper and Castellan are in my current list. It's fun what units can do that are not getting the sisters treatment. They actually kill stuff worthy of their point costs

I've found 2 rogue trader entourage and 2 navy breacher units to be very effective at a tournament standard in infantry spam horde lists for survivability enhamcing the grenade strat and for starting on the objectives

The Melta rule should confer a bonus to wound at half range, like +1 to wound. The extra damage the rule gives is useless unless you can actually wound the target, which historically is what melta weapons were supposed to do very well. I take a Knight Castellan in my Sisters army to cover the long range anti-tank firepower base.

Also, I personally would love to hear more about the Witch Hunters Codex sometime Christian. I'm a sucker for old lore and interesting tidbits and factoids and stuff. Plus, your praise for the book counts for a lot in my eyes given your history with the Sisters faction.

I will use the Bosnian Knight as a ally. Yes I could buy a 3rd pack of battle sisters, a Castigator and anything to fill up 110 missing points for a 1.000 points army (Maybe a Retributors Squad for 105p.). OR I leave Junith Eruita at home and bring the power of Bosnia uppon the enemies

Thank you very much for the vids about the sisters, greatly appreciate it! Im gonna bring some navy breachers and a rogue trader entourage, and ephrael stern as warlord. A decision routed in me being salty about lore actually. GW did something to the sisters which i really disliked; they used them to show off khorne and angron and their backstabbing, honourless sorcery-trick, the one with the beacon that turns everyone except custodes and such into cultists. So now my sisters lorewise survived the khornate marketing stunt by having ephrael stern shield them with her anti chaos abilities, among with other personell present on the ship. I also opted to exclude repentias bc in my head canon they all died while taking back the bridge of the ship, with the exception of only eight of them (insert smug look from ephrael here) who got promoted to celestians, all wearing death masks. Enter tenth edition, i was literally building those celestians when the index came out. Goddammit GW.

Came back to this video for a refresher on your thoughts on IK allies. After losing my first two games at 500 points (1 close and should have been a win if I wasn't misplaying so much as I learned what to do and not do, and 1 not even close, because Repulser has WHAT TOUGHNESS and HOW MANY GUNS?!) I was looking at my assembled and primed models, unprimed models, and boxes wondering how best to get to 1000 points for our next league game. (Kill missions, no objectives, and so I'm feeling like infantry is a BAD choice going forward...unless I sit down and grind out 40 models to clog the board. Wait, are we GSCs now?) I slowly realized that if another Castigator and a set of Paragons wouldn't even take me to 1k...did I even have 2k points of Sisters anymore. No. No I do not. 1575 before enhancements. I have one Rhino, and have requested another Rhino from my FLGS, and do have Greyfax and a box of henchmen to build and paint...but I do not want to spend $100 on an Immolator that is 115 points before the April 2024 dataslate. So I ordered an Armiger box off Amazon, and currently debating on if I should build them asap, or wait a few weeks while I try and get some 3d printed bits to churchify them.

Just started Sisters and using a Warglaive in 2k point games feels great. It became kinda my Big Boss in the army as anything else just keeps dying cause I’m just getting into the how to actually play the sisters than just playing around and yeah the Warglaive is great while still learning

Canis rex can also do rapid ingres shenanigans for 0 cp, then move + shoot, then charge with a FREE tank shock for 6MW followed by his massive melee hits that crit on 5+ and all have sustained 1. Also anything bigger than him become a pain to transport.

FYI re: Callidus You can only pick a Battle Tactic stratagem using her ability. This was pointed out to me only recently, but the Autumn '23 balance dataslate changed how modifying CP worked.

Any thoughts on the Rogue Trader Entourage? 105pts, 4 models, 10 total wounds, 4+ Invulnerable Save, 5+ Feel No Pain, Infiltrators. Allows you to redeploy D3 Imperium Battleline units after both players have deployed, which potentially could include Armigers.

that is not a bad choice. It isn't as thematic for sisters but it works. Sisters don't usually need outflank but sending an armiger to outflank can work if deployed badly. Usually, after seeing the enemy list I would start the armiger in reserves unless for some reason reserves was full of seraphim. I prefer inquisitorial agents instead for cheaper objective holding

How do Mechnicus and Soritas view each other in the lore? Part of me wants to have a write up and paint a custom Forge World that focuses of supporting the Sisters of Battle. There's enough parallels between faith, that I think there could be some unique flavor putting the two side by side. Or do they barely tolerate the other?

they are allies (officially). Sister need the mechanicus help with their vehicle maintenance and the admech need the ecclesiarchy to keep order. The Imperial Priesthood is more recognised than Tech Priests (who are priests, remember). But they have had a lot of battles before over resources, command and faith

The warhound with twin flamers is actually pretty decent:) over watching with that thing is pretty spicy. Plus for 100pts you can get the CP from Jude so other strats aren't off the table:)

For the vindicare killing any model in the unit, precision let's you target only character models and keywords are only shared in the unit, not across all models. The most obvious case is that you don't get assassinate points for each model in the bodyguard unit that dies because the models in the unit do not have the character keyword.

I do like using the knight paladin. I much prefer the rapid fire battle cannon with double the shots at 36". It is 40 pts cheaper than the Rex but gives me better versatility against a larger range of enemies.

I wonder how they gonna do the others detachment for GSC because the bladed cog one uses too give 6+ invulnerable save to infantry, mostly the battle line and improve the invul of other. But the real problem is constantly regenerating neophyte that can re-spon after being kill and now with a 6+ invulnerable save. Also the aberrant would get a 6+ too on top of their 4+ file no pain.

Not yet. However the next knight I get is going to be a Crusader and that one will be painted in sissies Colors. A Crusader for long range fire power.

Am I correct by saying that I could include a Vindicare Assassin as well as an Armiger into my Army or do i specifically have to take one unit with the retinue keyword to meet the requirements? The reason I ask is because the Armiger has neither the character nor the retinue keyword, where every Imperial Agent/ Knight actually does

you can have both. No knights have the retinue keyword because they are pulled straight from the Imperial Knight Index. The assassins and units from the Imperial Agents Index have a limit depending on points cost. If you use the PDF's from Warhammer community it becomes clearer than if you are just using the app (I am guessing from your question that you are using the allies button on the app)

and you could pick only characters or only retinues as allies, so you don't need to include an inquisitor to include Inquisitorial henchmen, or vice-versa. One or the other is fine

Thanks a lot for your quick answer! I indeed looked up the keywords on the app. What confused me was that the Armiger doesnt have the character keyword, but all other Knights do. So, it really should be possible to include the Vindicare and an Armiger into my 1000pt Sororitas Army?

I've always thought a Knight made a lot of sense for adding long range supporting fire and being a big distraction. But I'm not a fan of the forge world proforion (whatever) because 1) Forgeworld, but more importantly 2) It's a big slab of points of a very one dimensional unit that is no where near as good as a Wraith knight. If you're interested in tournament lists, unless you get very lucky with pairings, a bunch of your games it's not going to make up its point cost and you will likely lose simply because it's too many points invested in doing one thing with one model.
