I know you’ve done this before but you should do a fantasy draft but the rule is you can only pick 1 player per team for example say you picked a player from the capitals you can’t pick another from the capitals ( I hope you win the cup )

Here's an idea: Much like this video, you have to choose something before the players are revealed to you. But for this challenge, you have to choose if you're going to take the highest jersey number, the lower jersey number, or the middle jersey number. If there's a tie for your pick, (for example, you pick "highest jersey number", and you get 2 players who wear 91 and one player who wears 12) you get both players, but obviously that would be one less randomized selection later on. For the sake of making sure you get a proper roster, do it like in this video, where you do all forwards, then all D-men, then all goalies. Just to make sure you actually get your 2 goalies you need, if nothing else.

Shuffle your trading cards and do a random yes/no draft, claiming/rejecting players as you flip them over

not sure where i saw it but you can do a team of your favourite players active or retired

check assistant and associate goalie coaches with good coach influence and decent stats and it’ll help lower overall goalies perform better

You should make a team of players who go into free agency for the upcoming season

Currently trying this myself. Makes franchise mode so much more interesting! Edit: I got McDavid and we still missed the playoffs 💀
