As a VGC player my favourite Japanese names would be バドレックス , ザシアン, グラードン, and ルナアーラ

Enbuoh, Goronda, Fushigidane, Lizardon, Ringuma, Zenigame, Hinoarashi. These are most the ones I know from memory.

Probably Miniryu for Dratini because it literally means mini dragon

Vowel devoicing is more like the vowels get whispered or "muted", since each vowel would retain the same intended length (the mora length). In this case トリトドン could be pronounced T'-ri-to-don (instead of Tri-to-don), but the important thing is to keep each mora (the "syllables") the same length. So saying To-ri-to-don fully voiced would be acceptable tbh. Same with Su-ka-tan-ku (or if you prefer to devoice, S'-ka-tan-k') Speaking of mora, when reading rōmaji/romanisations you'd also want to look out for macron lines above vowels (indicating prolonged vowel sounds, like the ō in rōmaji above) and double consonants (like オンバット Onbatto (Noibat) being pronounced On-bat-to)

This is not true at all. i and u can be devoiced, but they still have syllabic weight. No other vowel is ever devoiced in Japanese, but could be in loanwords.

It would be good if it wasn't Ice type.

To be fair, Gamefreak probably intentionally drops Pokemon that are "meh" to outright "bad" like Bergmite/Avalugg on purpose in order for the really good Pokemon to shine even more. For instance, Avalugg may be really bad for an Ice type, but Cetitan is actually a good bulky Ice type that can tank even a super-effective hit or two. But in general, the Ice type really should get an overhaul at some point by perhaps re-tuning it by making it strong against one or two additional types (such as Water, or making the Frozen status more likely to work against Water types in general?) and giving it a couple new resistances like to Water (for the same reason I suggested making Water weak to Ice) and Electric (since Ice is a very poor at conducting electricity)....especially since there are at least a few genuinely good Ice types like Glaceon, Froslass, Frosmoth, and the aforementioned Cetitan. Maybe even add a few new Ice type moves that accentuate this, like how we already have the move Freeze Dry as a super-effective hit against Water, maybe add an Ice move (or ability) that weakens Water & Electric moves from opposing Pokemon and/or an offensive move that's super-effective against Electric types (or possibly acts like the Disable effect except that it blocks *ALL* Electric moves from working while in effect, like an Ice type variant of Light Screen/Reflect, or an ability that does the same thing but disables Electric moves for as long as that Pokemon is active in the battle). This could give Ice types a bit more utility against two of the more commonly used types (that being Water & Electric). but I'm mostly just spitballing ideas here. :P

honestly, the editing was too much for my taste. every 2 secs theres a zoom, some noise or something else happening. sometimes you cant even follow whats happening. makes it kinda exhausting to watch sadly

@@Qwtzuuu Cannot support this more. The editing was WAYYY TOO MUCH. Had no idea what was happening nor what damage rolls were. Half the time we would only see one Pokemon. Like who is out against who????

I love the edits. I think they make the video more engaging, but I can see how it would be hard to follow for a lot. The one complaint I have every time is not being able to see how many Pokémon are alive. Though that’s not exclusive to Luke’s videos.

i genuinely love the language so much and wish i had the time and capability to learn it fully, anime has taught me a few bits here and there but i genuinely love trying to pronounce all the names and words from shows and media n stuff :D

It's the same reason why Feraligatr is missing an O, in older games there was a 10 character limit. I think they increased it in Gen 6, because we have mons like Fletchinder

Nyao-ha is how it sounds, the romanizations (which seem to be Nyahoja) don't correctly reflect the pronunciation The name in Japanese is written as ニャオハ (nya o ha)
