Totally agree, in fact I didn't subscribe to this channel because this guy is way too irritating! He seems to think that he's the man but he REALLY ISN'T. CarAudioFabrication FTW.
This guy is funny and I'll probably watch his videos again. But I'm 8 minutes and stupider than I was before I started. I just finished replacing the speakers in every f150 that ever went through the assembly line, and the video still isn't over yet.
Soundman- I have the same series of head unit. It pairs/plays automatically via USB (can be turned off) the Bluetooth pairing has to be done via settings, can pair two items. Also- make sure you press setup when unit is off to go through the 'initial' setup for speakers. This helps with the built in amp and Crossover filters. Although I partially disagree with the comment about Head units. Yes you can upgrade- and yes the DSP is awesome, if your head unit has a high distortion or improper SN ratio your, all your doing is amplifying bad sound. Utilizing a 1kz tone to verify distortion this unit can almost hit max volume before that happens. Keep up the good work and thank you for your videos!
Holy Shit! You got this truck in Amplified Season 1, 6 years ago....and you drove it all this time with stock speakers. Your the Soundman. A Soundman doesn't have stock speakers.
Everyone is talking shit in the comments because they couldn't lasso an inkling of appreciation for an informative video with a large focus on entertainment/humor. This is the first video of Doug's I ever saw, and I immediately subscribed afterwards. I've watch Amplified religiously for months now, and always look forward to new videos on Mondays and Thursdays.
Question for you...I have a 2018 Tundra w/the shit JBL stereo. I think I am going to rip the whole thing out (unless you have better advice). I was thinking of using the CT MESO 6.5 INCH 3-WAY components. The 6.5's in the door, the 3' in the dash holes and the tweeter in the sail panel. What do you think? Better to stay with a 2 way component or is 3 way worth the extra effort? Thanks.
I found this fucking hilarious! I skipped other video's and watched this whole video just to find out it's not what I was looking for..... Till now 😆 😆
Dude yes! I have a 2000 Expedition, took 3 screws out, door panel comes off, popped in my Polk x8's and Metra connectors, done. Are you planning on putting the tweeters in the upper part of the door panels? If not install them in the A-pillars facing the windshield. When I was experimenting in my f-150 that was the best place for mine. Less harsh when their facing away but are just about at head level.
SoundmanCA hey man! Don't be trashin on Chevy man! My 04 escalade has door panels that slide up and off just like yours man! Where's Spoon!? He likes Cadillacs... 😭
First 2 mins and im subbed for life. Putting 2 extra mids and 2 extra tweets in my 08 accord. 4 memphis audio, and two ct audio. But i think i need a new stereo amp to run the extra speakers. But idk yet. Thats why im here lol
My Pioneer head unit automatically pairs with my phone whenever it turns on. As long as I have my bluetooth on in my phone all I have to do is get in and go and it'll just pair by itself. Btw love your videos man!
I'm running the same Strato component set in my 12 Silverado crew cab. 2 sets actually running off an AT60.4 in active and an AT1400.1 pushing 2 12" Bio subs.
Doug isn't trying to teach us anything or accomplish anything in the videos he's just doing his thing and being entertaining and maybe being a massive troll by never really finishing what the video is titled as LOL
+SoundmanCA the Jl audio c3 5x7 are good thay are a component set but the phase plug comes out and the tweeter sits where the phase plug goes so thay look like a set of coaxials
Have you ever considered getting a set of wheel dollies? They are great for moving cars around in a small shop. Set of four range in price from less than $200 to much more. I know that's money but the convenience may be worth it to you.
On my VW Polo there's one screw and some clips holding on the grille and the speakers can be fitted by just removing the grille, makes shit so much easier. Wish all cars were like that
I think Ford got a good deal on bulk buying 5x7 speakers back in 1978. Bulk as in like 18 billion, and they still have 14 billion sitting in a dilapidated warehouse somewhere in Detroit waiting to be shipped to the various assembly plants and installed.
Ok i'm looking at customize my 98 ford expedition xlt 4x4 , i'm trying to see what size door speakers to get & also a great name brand that's excellent, i'm building for competition
just did the same setup in my truck front and back. had to tune the highs down cause they would get harsh. I almost sh*t when I saw the video still, I thought you were throwing the 6.5 meso subs in your door! I want to swap mine just worried they'd be too deep!
2:18 Been there too many times. Came here to watch how to remove panel and how long it will take me... How long it took you X 1,000hrs. Great info Bro. Thank you
LoL I’m not a car audio guy, but was looking at reviews for some input. Happen to come across your channel, fucking hilarious. Keep it up and great videos 👍🏼
Doug. I think the Bit 8.9 is going to be a little weak when it comes to pushing the CT Sounds speakers. Just with the bit only pushing 35w RMS and the 6.5 alone asking for 60w RMS. Do you agree?
Doug you need to install again. You should just install one at a time. Every time i watch your show i want you to do it. It's like i can't trust any one down here in Riverside .I have a 2015 Honda Accord. Think about it? ?
Why am I enjoying this so much!? I'm just trying to learn about speaker setups. I would love to smoke with this guy! Then maybe talk about car audio if that ever comes up...
Can you setup the Audison unit (or another Audison DSP) without the Dealer kit? Do you need the dealer part for the autotune? The DSP seems like a worthy addition to a car stereo.
What's a good, I don't wanna say budget, but starter DSP that you can play with and will last you awhile but doesn't require a dealer to tune it like the Audison? Any recommendations?
