You were born to be a teacher! You have never forgotten what it's like to be new to something, a beginner in something. You are explicit, patient and you have a clear and calm voice. Thank you for being you!
That's the right way to do it. I used to be a teacher, so I know exactly how many skills and abilities one needs to be a great teacher. Though, at the end of the day, what one needs is love. Passion. May you always be there for us!
This is outstanding. I wish so much that I had had this guidance when I taught myself to play at age 11 in 1971. This is been so helpful to start back at square one even though I’m an advanced player there’s a lot of fundamentals that I never learned because I’ve been self taught from the beginning. Thank You for your love of music and generosity in sharing your knowledge.
Great video. What I've found being an absolute beginner is .get a guitar from a good guitar shop not online. Try different guitars not the first guitar you see. And try to get a guitar that is going to last a while and look at what your budget . An expensive guitar is a good investment I don't mean thousands but over £300 will be better than a guitar around £100 and if you then decide guitar is not for you then you will be able to then sell on.
Sometimes it's not really the guitar the problem even tough some expensives are indeed better than cheapest but the chords mounting for first use it worth you'll change it quickly for more expensives and better quality ones.
Good advice about trying the guitar, but the price difference isn't completely true . . I've reviewed a Fender for £600 and it was so bad I couldn't finish the review, and lots of people in the comments had the same problem with bad quality control. I even reviewed an Ibanez that cost £3000 and it needed adjustments before it could be played properly. I've also reviewed guitars for £100 to £150 which were perfect straight out of the box, but these were electric guitars. With acoustic guitars what you say about price tends to be more true . . They have to be finished properly in the factory so if you can pay a bit more, do so.
I assume when you say chords you mean strings ? If that is what you mean, yes they can improve the sound but that's all. You can't buy a bad guitar and expect the strings to improve it much, you need to be happy with the build quality, feel and the setup of the guitar.
