Yellow gold reigns supreme. It flatters more complexions and has been used for centuries. 🙌🏽 It's so rich and buttery 💎😍 I've never heard of it being "old school" ...cultural difference I guess. White gold and platinum looks like silver.
fashionerdxo ...I’ve been debating for days on whether to get white or yellow gold. I feel like white gold makes your diamonds stand out more but just exactly like what you said. The classic and rich look of the yellow gold... oh the struggle!
ILove Diamonds I feel you girl! I’m in the same situation now but I think I’m leaning more towards yellow gold😅. Were you ever able to make a decision? 💍
I prefer yellow gold in general, but for a engagement ring, i like white. I am not a fan of rose gold, there are a few nice piece but it clashes with a lot of skin tone.
@@melodiechartier5173 I agree w/you about rose gold...I keep hearing that rose gold is SO popular & suits SO many skin tones but I really disagree w/the latter part of that statement. Rose gold IS popular right now (though a but trendy) but really believe it clashes w/many skin tones....it definitely doesn’t work on me & I’m a medium-warm/olive skin tone.
18k+ gold look too yellow and look good only on warm skin tone. They look cheap and clash with many gemstones and different outfits. 14k and 10k gold are more silvery. They match with more things.
I have a rose gold split shank with a 2ct (size 5.25) light champagne pear moissanite with a near colorless moissanite halo and I specifically chose that metal because I wanted to give the light champagne stone more of a peachy pink tint and it worked perfectly! I’m obsessed with it, I’ve had 4 moissanite rings made and a 5th one in the works and I love them all but this is one of my favorites so far! All right hand rings, my e-ring and wedding band are white gold with 1ct and micro pavé diamonds. So I get to have fun with my right hand, lol.
Tracey Do Correct!! Im binging on these LaurenB videos and really enjoy the information but when he said that I was like, um, no, that's not true 😔 Was seeing if anyone else noticed! 😌 I've been researching rose gold a lot because I'm thinking of doing rose gold solitaire with platinum prongs (6) for my ring...someday 😁😍😍
Does moissanite pick up yellow gold in the ring even more so than a diamond would? I really love this yellow gold setting, but I'm afraid it would look weird to make the prongs white gold/platinum without making the entire basket and scroll work also white gold/platinum, which I don't think would be as beautiful. But I don't want the moissanite I get to look yellow.
Hello! I have a question. You say here that the 14K Rose gold, has a softer, lighter pink color than the 18KRose Gold. Would it not be the other way around? Less 14 k yellow with the copper alloy, would seem to me to be more coppery in color. Wouldn’t the 18K rose color be more delicate?
Do you have at least 1 carat pink diamond for my wedding ring and for my husband too that will look similar to my ring. I am looking for it my wedding will be after 6months from now. The metal we want is pure platinum.
what if I choose an all yellow solitaire setting the one with the halo under the stone for a j color pear...will the center still look colorless? you recommend getting I or above on your blogs but will J not look white?
Depending on diamond shape might have some yellow to it. Round cut will show less, cushion in the middle, oval and pear diamonds show more yellow and J color will most likely not look white for pear
