I think the new talons are pretty good. I have a 19 R and have upgraded the mechanicals to the modern parts. I wish the suspension was softer, but the rest of the car is really capable. The X is really good for the trails. My R has always done reasonably well at the st Anthony dunes. Even pre turbo. Paddle tires were a must though.
I'm listening to your stories about high school. Thinking back to the 1980s when I was riding 3 wheelers. I went from a Honda 90 bored to 136.then a Honda 185 modified to monoshock swing arm and front shocks with a 205 kit. Then my dad got 1981 250r air cooled with a 300 head. It had crap suspension. He said to me one day you can ride it if you can start it. Forward kick did it first time. That year he bought me a used 1985 water cooled 250 R 3 wheeler. It was 1986. Only thing I ever did to it was a twist throttle and kept it until 1995 sold it for $900 with 3 sets of rims and tires. The original knob paddles and a set of flat trackers all on mounted aluminum. I was 25 and stupid. What I wouldn't do to have her back again. Now I'm 53 as you age get in a cage. 21 turbo xp4 velocity. Shocks by Gary Hamblin. 72in wide and runs like a trophy truck. Guess what? I've never blown a belt. Not once and I drive the shit out of it. Replace at end of season every year. Learn one thing guys it ain't a bike or a trike. It's a car drive it like one respect what it can or cant do. Knock on wood. Why do you have to insure it if you not trying to kill it for views. Just saying respect. And quit cutting the lip now that you're older.
Love that yall recorded this at choke! Im a fan of the wildcat. But as a big duner. Id have to go with the can am. Very easy to make it a lot quicker at an affordable price.
I would love you guys give a try to the segway villain. It’s a great bang for the buck for a 72” machine. Power is good for an N/A, reliable AF (I have 3500 miles on mine 0 issues, just regular wear parts like pads oil and bearings), great tech and about the suspension the video you guys saw over the woops that villain didn’t have the suspension dialed for that track, but shock therapy is on the works and we will be releasing an upgraded more adjustable suspension on 2024 models. I can confirm villain is a great machine that will keep up with a can am or Polaris competitor on its category. Also lot of aftermarket manufacturers are working on parts for it
Nice I haven’t been around one enough to give a good opinion that’s why i won’t recommend but good to know thanks for the info to bad you weren’t close to hear so we could check it out
YXZ definitely the most fun to drive. I think it's the lightest and with $800 in a pipe and tune on all these 20 k machines, it will smoke all in a drag race. factory launch control is nice!
Since I already had a xx I go with another one I never had a single problem. Had mine in the Oregon dunes it was a blast. I do think I had a good paddle set up for it car. I would do a couple things do strengthen it like the speed werks front diff upgrade and maybe race prep the trans with upgrades.
I was goin to buy yxz new in 22 ... then seen a 22 x3 xrc... 64" bought it immediately... no regrets .. things nasty.. for me an I'm gettin old so.. but I wanted the most motor for the money... loved the idea to shift yourself but can am was way better built..!!
The point these guys are making is this. Dune guys need long travel, long wheelbase and high horse power. Trail guys, krx and xx eat trails up! If you ride in the rocky mountains, a turbo is not your friend at all. Also, i know several guys with the RC, and they abosolutely hate them for here in the northwest for trail riding. But down in the flats, going across the desert, they love them. Key, i agree, if you dune, these guys here know what they are talking about, its where they ride. If you ride in rough rocky terrain or rocky desert northwest, ask guys from that region. We have 25 machines in our group, all have had shock work, my xx's, are stock shock and ride so smooth here. Yes i own two xx's and i beat the crap out of them. They are wicked fast and just eat the woops and everything else. Keep in mind the 2020 up cars are better than the 18 to 19 models. Also the 2020 up are all turbo ready engines. You can take the turbo engine, dash and ecu and swap into the xx. I also want to point out one of my machines is still on factory belt and that is with significant rock crawling, my other machine has adapt clutch upgrade with spring and weight kit but stock belt at 4500 miles was perfect. So not sure how you broke a belt on that xx unless it was hopped up. That being said, both the yxz and xx are getting old in design and i am looking at moving away from them next year.
Yes Under 20000 We got our stock waxy from the sand show at coyne It was 14 9 0 0 0 plus fees and We bought the extra insurance We were still under 20000 it ripped. I know you guys dog them down a lot but for the money really fun car you get the shift and bang Gears. Suspension modification is gonna be a must for smooth ride where used to the pre runner And it's kush
Ya we saw those there what a steal! Sorry if we dog on them sometimes we just had a few people over sale the snot out of them as if they were the best car period no questions so it’s kind of a inside joke just making fun of that guy
Honda talon for me over 6000 miles and i have put two front diff seals in it that cost me under 20.00 dollars .I don`t know of any other brand that you can put that kind of miles on for under 20.00 dollars in parts ???
@@desertsxs I bought a fully race prepped 2018 complete with 77" long travel, King race shocks, and every item built for desert racing for $22k. I have put 1500 more miles on it since I bought it. Giggle each time. Sure, I would love more power, but honestly, stay out of the dunes and it has plenty. In the rough, not many cars will keep up with it.
