Choosing The Perfect Retirement Spot: Phoenix vs. Tucson? 

Way too hot for me! I have a sister and a brother there and my parents used to be in Sun City but they passed away both of them in March and I'm in Oregon and I love it here. I love the rain and the cool weather. I don't know why so many people are flocking Arizona . I don't understand it but no thank you I thought of it for a very brief minute, but it was very brief and decided I'm gonna stay here

I pick Tucson.

Way too dry for me, I'll stick with the gulf coast.

Excellent comparison of both areas for those of us that aren’t sure where we might land yet! I know you specialize in 55+, but do you ever take on people who may decide a 55+ isn’t for them and decide to go in the direction of a neighborhood? Or who just don’t know yet whether they will go with a 55+ or a mixed-aged neighborhood? Thanks, Regina

Terrible idea, neither place is the Arizona of snowbirds,Sun City, golf carts or a" dry heat" climate. Tucson is clearly, head and shoulders better than the greater Phoenix area. Both cities have had a growth explosion that has them experiencing everything you don't want crime, traffic, high prices, crowds and big city issues. Tucson is clearly smaller and more easy to manage. Places like Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff and Pinetop are all in demand to the point were there is upward pressure on everything, housing prices and supply. Arizona is not a cowboy town, the desert is covered w houses and stucco strip malls for as far as the eye can see

Arizona was the third-fastest-warming state in the US between 1970 and 2018, according to a Climate Central study. And a recent ProPublica study suggested the Phoenix region will be among the country's least-habitable by 2050, with half the year spent at temperatures above 95F.

Given out lack of US BORDERS ....I'm saying NO to the Southwest!
