Choosing the right planner size for you! A5 vs. Personal size 

Thank you. You helped a lot. My personal arrived today. Wasn't sure on size before it arrived. But watching your video seeing the A5 size I'm glad I got personal because I do want to carry it everywhere.

Wowww! Great video! You really thought this out and shared your views with your viewers! I completely agree with you ok many of these points. I'm currently deciding on switching from an A5 to a personal, which will be hard for me. I haven't used a small sized planner in years. I hate that I will have less room to decorate, but then again, I'll save money on deco supplies!!! LOL

Thank you for your thoughts! You make great points about the pros and cons. I am starting out with a personal and finding it a bit tight for real notes and sketches. I’m reluctant to size up to A5 because it is so much more clunky.

A year ago I bought a Personal size planner for school and this video really helped me to decide if I buy a A5 one and I will ! I really need more space :D

To everyone who is struggling with this question ( A5 or personal??) , I implore you to get both!!!!! Buy the binders and get the inserts for free!!!! Trust me, you need both if you can't decide between the two. Right now, I utilize my personal planner as a wallet, a catch all for lists, i.e. groceries & daily to dos; a coupon holder; And an on-the-fly budget binder.... My use my A5 as my college planner; a creative outlet (I doodle hardcore, & zentangle), Annnnd a journal.

This is exactly what I did too! I keep my A5 Filofax as my "stay at home binder" and my Compact Filofax as my on the go essentials. I also added my wallet into my Compact planner its getting stuffed but working for now. Next up I'm going to try keeping my Monthly(12mths) and daily(7days) inserts in my compact while my week on two pages stays in my A5. That way on Sunday I can plan my entire week without that neck pain after staring into the smaller compact haha.

I solved the portability issue with A5 by also using a pocket filofax wallet. The pocket wallet is for taking notes on the fly when outside and for shopping lists.... Then when I get back home, I transfer data. Sometimes it´s a bit of double work, but its not issue when you get used to it. I always do a quite 30 minute plan-the-day-sesssion in the morning before the kids get up :)

I just ordered a vintage leather Day-Timer 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 on EBay it does come with some inserts but I would like to try making some myself ?? Can you also recommend where is the cheapest place to purchase dividers and accessories ? TFS XOXO

What beautiful note paper in your A5! Did you buy them that way, or did you stamp/color onto plain paper?

How are you using both planners? What categories do u plan in each? I have this problem.

I tried many sizes and settled on Filofax Malden Personal in Ochre. A5 and upwards is too big to carry around. Smaller and you can’t get enough on one page. Plus the Personal size just “felt” right.

I have the same dilemma, and I've not ended up with over 50 filofaxes!

I think you should use just one planner every year I think it is unhealthy to change you mind so often without giving it a chance especially if you are buying expensive ones. I'm not trying to insult you so please do not take this as an insult
