If you have an older HDD use it with a usb to sata caddy for your new device. You can store photos, videos, etc in HDD and application on SSD. You can also unplug it for better battery backup.
I usually use Large capacity USB Extenal HDD for storing a lot of files.. easier when i need to change pc or laptop . I just unplug and move it.. easier than trying to move files in an internal storage. For internal storage i just keep the oa and applications.
Keep all your stuff on an external hard drive. That’s what I do. I got a seagate 2 TB hard drive in 2019 and I still use it today and it’s just over half full.
I miss the Windows 10 Start menu so much, it's the only thing holding me back from switching to Windows 11. It was stylish, functional, and informative, with the Live Tiles being especially useful. Now Live Tiles have been replaced with a boring list of apps. Please bring it back, or at least add an option to set it as the default in Windows 11.
Same (2) Live Tiles Section Name is killer feature in Windows 10 start menu The Windows 10 Mail is also better than the new Outlook especially in "Account" section If Windows killed the current Mail app in 2024, I might change back to Windows 10 after using Windows 11 since 2021 leak beta until moment 3
Me, too, but when I bought a new computer that I call my "Keyboard" as my powerful typewriter, it came with Windows 11 Pro. Like everything else that man makes, computer hardware and software have advantages and disadvantages. Computer technology may be great when it works well and stays well.
Y'all don't know Explorer Patcher exists? It is a great tool to make windows 11 usable, it can add back windows 10 start menu, taskbar, and even explorer ribbon and MUCH MUCH MORE Try it, even in windows 10 it is good
The lifespan of an SSD is significantly longer than that of an HDD. While HDDs tend to last around 3-5 years, SSDs can last up to 10 years or more. This is because SSDs have no moving parts, whereas HDDs have spinning disks that can wear down over time.
@@MaheshrajSamTheNumber1counterpoint: SSDs can lose data if it’s idle for too long, eventually data will be corrupt or lost. Also due to that, it’s really hard to recover the data from SSDs. Overall, between SSDs and HDDs I’d pick HDD for long term storage, as long as the HDD is only used for reading instead of writing. For best and lifetime archival media, optical disc or magnetic tape are the best options.
@@KellyWu04both can last long as long as you use them properly. Don’t write too much, and for SSD you need to plug in once in a while to refresh the power. Also, if HDD dies you can disassemble it and (partially) restore the data. SDD, however, once the data is gone, it’s gone, like the case of SanDisk extreme SSD losing data.
The only justification for HDD is it's much cheaper. SSDs last 10+ years easily and predictably while HDDs tend to fail after 5 years out of the blue. Granted you need to regularly power on the SSD to retain data
@@rrrr2150 if it's long term, you likely won't remember to power it often... besides, the reason HDDs have a short life span is because they have moving parts, if they are not moving, the chance of failure is basically 0
I actually use floppy disks and optical media to store my files. I am actually really happy that Windows 11 has support for floppy disk drives. I am hoping that that remains true for Windows 12 and other future releases of Windows.
Is SSD more reliable? My 512 GB Kingston SSD nvme boot drive crashed after less than 4 years! I used it hard for all that time. A minimum of 10 hours/day for most days under that period. The file structure seems still alright, but the OS refuses to see the drive as bootable. Tried to reinstall the OS. Still doesn't work. I have had better luck with mechanical hard drives as long as I optimize them regularly. Defrag and so on...
@@rrrr2150Are you from the US? You often have a longer warranty then we get in Europe (Sweden). Doubtful. I had to pay about 3900 crowns ($350) to get it replaced (upgraded to a 1 TB SSD) including reinstallation of OS because of boot issues. I'm a software guy (system developer) not a hardware guy.
Windows 12 minimum system requirements: processor :4 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 6 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
Hello Windows, I really love the Windows 11 operating system and it is wonderful, but you made a very serious mistake during compatibility of processors, as the Intel CPU Core M 330 @ 2.13 GH processor is still a very good processor and I have already exceeded the operating requirements and the temperature of the processor is rather good and for this reason I hope that Make this processor one of the processors that can be upgraded to Windows 11. Thank you for your efforts ❤
128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB is the perfect SDD storage it is the fastest start up on the modern day computers even if resetting the Windows due to Technical glitches such as Start Menu critical error. And as well as fast efficient tasks.
At almost the end of June this year, I bought new Laptop that comes with M.2 NVMe SSD. It's a Huge changes in performance and smoothness 😅 While at the same time, I also buy enclosure for my HDD from the Old broken Laptop, as My main storage there
Hello Microsoft team, good luck. My Hp Probook 640b computer is infected with a virus called tlauncher. When I want to uninstall this application, do you allow me to make changes on your computer? There is an article saying "I can't say anything because I'm afraid. How can it be solved?" Computer system: Windows 11 Pro Old Version: Windows 7
Hey! Can't you guys just optimize win11 instead of bringing new features, yesterday i just updated my windows 11 from settings, and that new update is just destroying my computer, lagging very harshly, non app is working smoothly. Before updating it my PC were working smoothly yesterday's evening. Can I get some suggestion please 🙏
so 1 tb is not necessary 512 is even more then enough and 256 is just right. cause all i do is i check my email, browse social media & watch movies streamed online
I love how you sell our data information and making our updates full of bloat!!❤️ I switched to linux because of windows 11🥰 Please do not make an operating system again!🔥🔥🔥
Who said ssd is only 2 years of life? U just made that up, ssds can last longer then normal HDDS infact the lower tier ones are guaranteed to last at minimum of 5 years and higher tier ones double that
