I've always much prefered No. 1 over the more popular No. 2. I love it's mysteriousness. I guess one of the main reasons why No. 2 is more popular is because it's a happy piece. I'll take mystery / melancholy over happy pieces any day though. Great playing as usual.

Agamaz I'm the one who prefers No:2. Also it is my favorite classical piece. It makes me more sadder when I'm sad, more happier when I'm happy etc.

Honestly, I prefer this one over the more famous No. 2. While No. 2 is certainly beautiful, I think this is even better and often doesn't receive the love it deserves.

One of the best nocturnes, something very sensuous about its content, to me it almost defines the word elegance. Pure 19th century romanticism at its best. And amazing how it is not overdone or over embellished - just perfectly done.

Nice playing Paul. I am self learning this Nocturne right now. This is quite a challenge for me as I only passed Abrsm (Level 5) 28 years ago and ever since I have not been taking piano lessons. The appregios on the left hand and rhythm for both hands are difficult. I simply want to master the technical part before I can work on interpretation.

@@MicheleG1989_ easiest way to learn this (kinda cheating) is to just play 2 against 1 and then 3 against 2 for the last few notes. After that is comfortable you can kinda rubato it into a 6v11.
