Y62 Patrol Snaps both CV's Reuben DMW Springs 4x4 Tred Outdoors Breast Cancer Awareness trip away to Springs 4x4 park was an epic weekend. Here's a highlight of Reuben snapping BOTH CV's in one hit up Beer O'clock Hill
Considering how you drive it, with 37s and boosted, I'm impressed how the rest of the driveline stands up to it, there has to be a driveline fuse somewhere! Looks like the cv's are it. I just wish they had a cheaper fuse that was easier to replace and carry around. I know I shouldn't, but I still compare my y62 to my old GU. The 62 is hard on cv's, I believe, because of the lack of down travel on a lifted IFS truck. That torque spike is just waiting to happen when you bounce up those hills 😁
Maybe we should develop some portals for these, gear the portals down so you can run 37s and the portals carry the gearing load 🤔 Then the IFS won't need to be lifted, and we'll get more down travel! Win win!
Mitigating CVs will be at the sacrifice of other components in the drivetrain. He needs to downsize those tires. The CVs aren't meant to handle them huge mass. I am surprised the drive shaft hasn't twisted like a straw.
@@ameetnarayan9219 you won’t twist a driveshaft unless it’s damaged. There’s gq’s and gu’s putting out psycho hp and torque with 6bt’s in them. They just snap axles, then t/case, then it’d be the gearbox before the actual driveshaft twisting.
@@eggy9108 yeah, if they break. All for easier things to break so you don't break a more expensive part. But a genuine cv axle is $1200. Break 2 in one go and that's pretty much $2500 I'd rather smash a set of $1000 crown and pinion gears, that's if the even do
Welllllll.. that was embarrassing. Not sure why people think if you have tons of power and massive tyres that the car is capable coz obviously its not. And its not the first time this happened. How long is it going to take for people to realise ifs patrols are not that tough when it comes to hard stuff.
37s, 500hp? and a monkey behind the wheel is always gonna break shit, nothing to do with the car at all as it was never designed for supercharged torque and 37s
