Through training or special medicine, one can achieve more or varied forms. This is a kinda rare thing though. The 3 Basic forms are what a Zoan Fruit user has right after eating it.

Zoan type users usually have three forms: Their regular form which is the appearance they had before eating the Devil Fruit, their fully transformed state which is the appearance they can transform into thanks to their Devil Fruit, and a hybrid form, which combines their two forms to create something much stronger.

So a Zoan Devil fruit turns you into an animal. Normally you get 3 forms: Your base form, the animal form, and a hybrid. If Copper had eaten a elephant zoan df, he’d morph between an elephant and reindeer. It is unknown what would happen if a human ate the Human Human devil fruit.

I think Oda speculated that human would achieve enlightenment or something like that. I have my own theory: every Zoan has models, right? Dalton for example has the Ox-Ox Fruit - Model: Bison. Chopper’s Devil Fruit isn’t given a model name, maybe because they didn’t know? You might think the Human-Human Fruit doesn’t need a Model name, but then you have Sengoku, who had the Model: Great Buddha. I think Chopper’s Devil Fruit was the Human-Human Fruit - Model Beastman/Yeti. His fully transformed state looks nothing like the traditional homo sapiens, having fur and built like a tank. So if a human were to eat Chopper’s Devil Fruit, it would result in them becoming like Chopper, a beast man with fur all over and become much stronger.

Devil Fruits are classified into 3 categories: Paramecia, Zoan and Logia. Luffy is a Paramecia, Chopper is a Zoan and Smoker is a Logia. I leave you to figure out the differences between the three.

Luffy's fruit classification is Paramesia. Which basically means "everything that doesn't fit the other two categories". Which makes it the most common type. One category is Zoan, which basically means "turn into animal" And the other one will be explained later. So i won't say it here.

So yeah, it is a spoiler at this point. And no, by now we only got to know the Zoan-type of Devil Fruit and how it works, not the other ones.
