I would love to collaborate with you on my project! I've been wanting to stretch a 4 door 89 Isuzu Trooper and add a pickup bed 23:53 made out of a 2 door Trooper. Then install a late-model 3.5L Isuzu engine & tranny under it. I have 5 -89 Troopers for this, but the trick is remaking the back 2 doors to eliminate the rear fender well. Just too many other easier hot rod projects to devote to this one.

Now it REALLY looks like a 'bug'. However, it is easy to make things look cool when they are totally illegal, like blacked out windows, no fenders, lights too low, no side markers, etc, etc.

You could have gotten the front torsion bar extender for $350 on line. It would kick your front tires out like six in inches and that would mean no front fenders but you're going for that anyways. Also it would lower the front up your butt and make your steering tighter. Keep the rear stock height because when you lower the rear the back wheels flare out and makes the bug look stupid in the rear.

"Uncharted territory"? What an ego! The VW community have been building Volksrods for decades! The Hot Wheels toy was inspired by the Volksrod genre. It's a nice car abnd car for sure and I appreciate the workmanship, but there are a lot of these around. The best of the breed is the Fernon car. The reason most enthusiasts don't cut up Beetles anymore is because of their increasing rarity and value. I have a 68 Beetle with some custom bodywork, but I started with a rotten shell so no loss.

It looks good. But looks aren't everything. Personally i wouldn't trust that front suspension at anything over 20mph. That car is a skin shell and most of the rigidity and strength is gone. Its ok as a show toy after a few thousand In interior but i wouldn't drive it very fast or far. Not to mention every door seal and window seal had to be cut and glued together to fit. After time in the heat and sun they will shrink and leak. Plus the back sides of every weld need to be seam sealed and painted or it will rust. This is the problem with scripted reality tv car shows is they dont show everything and people are paying way too much for cars that are patched together. Filled with body filler and painted. Body filler/bondo and paint hide a multitude of sin. I have been doing custom restoration for over 35 years and i am ashamed 😔 of what the industry has become. And had to break the hearts of many people who spent $30.000 and up on cars that are hacked together death traps. The new owners will be in for a surprise when the car is inspected in canada to find they have to spend thousands to get it to pass safety inspection. I love and breath cars bikes and boats but now only do my own toys. I got tired of fixing car flipper sins and mistakes.made in the name of financial gain. Its heartbreaking to know your life savings and dreams are worth half of what you paid and not safe. PLEASE PEOPLE DO YOUR REASEARCH AND HAVE THESE CARS LOOKED AT BEFORE BUYING.

MAX-AIR Shock absorber 10 inches - 12 in. One end is stud and second end is hole for bolt go thru holding down to I-beam spring and lower straight arm control gusset. All kits for $195.99.

The width between the middle tread right side tire and left side wheel of the VW air cooled beetle is 6 foot and to widen more of the tracks on a road car is to be either 7 foot or maybe 8 ft for sand dune buggy. Add in lower and upper tubular wishbone letter A control arm independent suspension design by TCI or PORCHE Wolfsburg.

Beetles are a hard car to chop and make it look "right". Also, it's hard to improve upon what the engineers, artists and factory workers created in Wolfsburg, Germany. I'm a VeeDub guy too, my first car was a 1967 Beetle I bought from my uncle Bill for a hunerd bucks. I sure do miss that car. It's one of a few cars I had that I regret parting with.

looks exactly like mine when I bought it.....exactly....had to buy another one just to get the hood.....chopped mine 3 1/2 inches all around and built a custom tube chassis with a 389 pontiac in the front with a th350 and narrowed ford nine inch in the back....four link rear suspension dropped front axle with quarter eliptical suspension and radiator in the back.....mickey thompson fatties in the back and 10 spoke front skinnies in the front.........

I love it!! New twist on a Jeep. I own a few Jeeps, and know ulhow a lot of people are over them. Their problem.is, they open a catalog and pick a bunch of bolt on accessories, and slap em on. There is no originality in that, can't wait to see where this goes

nice to have a sharp blade on a seawall. you made it look clean and easy. not so in real time. Saws all blades bend. they dull quick. My brother and I have done some work on the car. started with a ratty karmin this. getting engine and tranny out was a bitch. wheels were rusted on the drums in back. shortening the shift rod was another pain. required a custom made adjuster
