Chop chop Billy, TODAY I had my last alcohol 🍺🍀 Best St Patty’s Day ever 15 years ago today!!! Keep carrying the message of hope. If someone else reads this...YOU CAN DO IT TO.
Wanted to know if you had any tips with how to properly split wood with a wood splitter. I had an accident last year and I think I was going to quick and my finger got caught partly in the wood splitter and it pulled it down with the log thankfully was just my nail that got smashed in but kind of scared me after that and I don't know how to go about it as far as the proper way and if the log should be perfectly flat on the top and bottom before it even splitting wood you have any suggestions please
@@codyglomboske113 I might have some suggestions for ya bud, mainly if yer inexperienced just start off slow and at some point you will get the muscle memory of it and you will be able to do it faster without havin ta think about it, as far as wood bein straight, it doesn't have to be straight, it will still split, it just might fight you a little or might try to push yer piece off the splitter. All in all just be careful, start off slow, try to make sure that yer pieces of wood yer splittin are cut relatively straight to begin with and once you get some time on the machine then you will feel more confident to split wood that's not cut very straight. The last suggestion I have is to get out the good ole axe🪓 and do some swingin! That's how I do it and then I just use the splitter for the ones I can't split with an axe. Best wishes to ya, good luck! Remember take er slow and just work into it. You'll get it figured out in no time once yer doin it. Be safe!! Be kind!! Give love!!!
Thank you so much and yeah it's a different experience because there's times where I get really hard wood and the thing will just go pop goes a weasel .and as far as an ax I really want to get one do you have a suggestion I know you probably have videos informing about access but right now I'm just at a point in life to where I forget or don't always have the time to watch the videos I try to as much as possible to inform myself to better myself into having the knowledge to going about so and not being cocky because I've been realizing that it's a big factor in life were an individual starts being careless in a sense any who I really want to know what suggestion you have right off the bat right off the Hop for someone who has never used an ax but also someone who has a lot of root strength that could be used towards an act suited for him.I played baseball so I have good hand-eye coordination as far as that so I don't know if that would play in the aspects as far as what acts I should get thank you so much for your reply and your time I greatly appreciate it and I greatly appreciate your content. I have been entering the realm of using chainsaws and I just love it I love the two stroke to smell of the gas the sound of the chainsaw the sharp chain when it's sharpened perfectly cutting through a piece of wood it just feels so invigorating and I feel so accomplished after it. Then again I've never felt any trees like you in a sense you're kind of like an idol in a sense. And excuse my language but when I see your videos I'm like I want to look like that bad ass right there now that's an effing man I say lol on a real note
The splitter has its place just like the axe does. It’s just like you’ve said before, humble labor is good for the mind. That couldn’t be more true! Love to you and the family buckin❤️
So, I am pretty sure there is not another person alive that can make log splittin so fun to watch. The first time I saw you I thought man that guy is swinging that axe all crazy like, a minute or two I realized the skill and precision you are using. The years of swinging an axe have made you an absolute artist, and faster than any hydraulic splitter I have ever used.
Hello buckin I'm looking you from Greece !!here we have many of olive trees for firewoods if you know!!I like your chains collection and axes you have!you looking very good and funny man thx for the great videos my friend!!!👍💪
nice to see a buckin billy ray in his natural habitat,hahaha...i am sure you had some fun, brother! have a nice day and stay safe and healthy. greetings to all the newcomers, oldtimers, and friends of the channel! stay kind everyone and helpful to someone who needs. and many thanks to eastonmade for this gorgeous woodsplitter!
After working so hard thought you might like a joke? There were two guys playing golf, and a funeral passed, so one guy stopped, and waited for the funeral to pass before continuing with his game. His companion complimented him on his respect for the funeral, to which the guy replied, 'Well, its the least I could do, we were married for forty years!'
I’m not a lumberjack or anything but just the feeling of splitting wood or watching someone else do it is so satisfying. I also love what you do with your channel where u always try to spread positivity and love.
I've been watching quite a few of you wood splittin' videos lately and feel like I am getting a lot better with the flick and strategies to handle the pieces of wood for body longevity and more energy. I use what I learn from you videos coupled with the advice I get from my dad when I'm dealing with some particularly gnarly chunks. I feel like I am becoming a much more efficient chopper this Spring. I used to go out there and just hack and wack until I was tired. Now I'm not overstriking nearly as much and if I do I have the tight Paracord wrap there to save my handle haha! Your videos have been much appreciated and I want to acknowledge how generous you are with your time and energy.
Your very right, men must expend energy to feel healthy in both mind and body. My family owns a very successful tree business in michigan, I worked there throughout my teens. Everyday splitting wood in the morning and cutting down trees for customers in the afternoon. either axe, maul or hydrolic splitter. It gave me a good outlet to both meditate and be sound of health. Now I work a desk job and think.....man....those days were hard as hell, but great for me overall.
I love your videos Billy. I'm 50 years old and have always had a love affair with the axe and saw. My dad bought me my first axe for my 5th birthday. He taught me how to use it and that if I take care of it, it would take care of me. It's a Norlands boys axe and to this day I NEVER leave home without it. I have many axes and saws but none are like my childhood friend of 45 years. Thank you for the great videos.
Man, everything has been so stressful that I thought I couldn't rest, as it happened in the last 2 days. It is 3AM here and tomorrow I have 2 tests, but right now, I think I can sleep. The sheer power of your charisma has lift me up to an state of tranquility that I haven't felt in quite sometime, and now I feel that I could take on the world, filled to the brim with inspiration. Thank you for bringing me some peace just by being yourself. Wish you the best of luck and the best of days. Be kind!
I also broke my back you definitely do things differently now a days you are truly a inspiration to me god bless you and have a great day love yer videos

Thanks for the awesome videos. Thanks to you I have improved as a woodsman 10 fold. Your tips and tricks and great attitude has helped in more ways than you can imagine. I finally got the flick down today while splitting and its a game changer!
Thanks for posting these videos - they're amazing and so enjoyable! I've always been fascinated by anything to do with wood, especially log splitting, I do it for fun and really, really enjoy it and your love for the "wood" is really obvious. So glad I found your channel.
I love watching Buckin in his element! The man is a just a humble amazing kind human being. I am grateful everyday he exists. He makes my day everyday. Be kind!
The bad thing about a back problems is you have to use your knees more and pray they don’t give out . They start hurting real quick I’m one year out from back fusion and I have been putting my knees though hell. But it is what it is and we march on and do what has to be done. Much love to anyone that is dealing with the old body giving out. God bless. Keep chopping wood it’s better then a gym membership good for the soul
Hi there Buckin', lovely video as always. I love your videos. If I'm having a bad day, I watch some Buckin' Billy Ray and the world seems a better place. I love the positive message you always bring, and your humility and warmth; how you take the time to encourage a child or share a kind word to a viewer. You da best Buckin'. God bless.
Crib is a dying game. Daughters math when through the roof in 2nd grade with a month of a game a day after dinner. She was studying and didn't even know it.
Just the other day we dropped 5 trees, limbed, bucked and split all 5 at my brothers property, two people on saws and 3 on axes, we were all having too much fun. It’s just genuine fun and resets us all from our day to day lives. Love to ya buckin!
I'm a new subscriber and now I've got a new friend too. Love what you do. I fix up old Chevy trucks and Stihl chainsaws but I know we can put our differences aside. Ha, good times. Cheers.
Man against machine. A classic duel. You better slow that man machine down and buy some gasoline. We don't want to run our B-Billy into the ground. Good video Billy. I wish I had a mess of axes to explore the differences. I'm working on it. Thanks again Billy.
As soon as you said you were playing a game of crib. Tears slowly streamed down my face. I use to play that with my grandfather. He past away almost 7 years ago.
Buckin has taught me to be more aware of the surroundings as you work. It's so easy to have some kind of accident. Watch as he splits, the feet automatically get settled by pushing and kicking little spits and sawdust out of the way to settle the body into stable stance. When he's falling a tree he always looks around, back and forth, up and down. You never know when someone or a dog could walk into the drop zone. It's pre-programmed movement to maintain high level of safety. Without that high level of awareness the chances of injury go up. Stay safe Stay strong Be kind
Hey Buckin', IF that's my axe yer swinging, PLEASE be careful with it. I want it pristine.... OK just having fun here, who ever gets that tassy axe is getting something special. Be safe as this too shall pass, one day at a time...
Buckin I learn so much from you...I too had a busted back and surgery and thought I knew about picking up my rounds. You taught me another way So Thank you Brother. I sure would love to split like that...For now though it's a hydraulic splitter for me...Ge safe and God Bless Brother
Hi Good Morning Ray ! I agree with you my friend you have very nice power splitter machine 👍 wow but sometimes we feel to split wood right on the ground Instead moving that wood twice and it’s all in our blood working physic and filling good after we accomplish something buddy you are great 👍 man Bucking 🪓🎶🌲👍☕️ Bert Northern Ontario
Hey buckin, I enjoy watching your videos a lot! Thank you for this magic stuff (makes me feel good). Sometimes you seem to struggle, the wood does not want to split. Old tree guys told me that wood splits way better from top to bottom. Maybe you give it a try. All the best for you and your family from Germany Gunnar
Love it brother. What a great way to highlight the effectiveness of different cutting profiles. Keep em coming. FYI: did a quick google search since I’ve never heard of the “Swift Drifter”. Looks like it was called the “Swift Cutter”. It’s always fun to find a new model from Kelly.
I know you are tired Buckin but you make it look so easy. I have split wood my whole life and know how hard it is. Get a cup of coffee and some rest my brother!
Your videos are great to watch and learn because of this Chanel I bought a new 395 xp with a 36" bar would love to have an axe put together by you keep up the great videos
Billy Ray, you need a drone for some aerial shots of these large trees you're felling! I don't know if you'll see this, but I think that would be a great perspective on how the trees look when they are starting to lean and fall.
Bucken thankyou for the information on dropping tree"s that lean in towards the house and power lines was able to drop both tree's with the domino effect .thankyou for the information.
Always wondered where your from I've seen the hydro one pants a few times hinting to you living near me love the great skills you show us wish we had more people like ya keep up the good work my man
