Seeing Zagitova and Miyahara back-to-back is like night and day. Alina is hunched and her positions not that refined; Satoko has impeccable posture and refined spirals. It's definitely an area Alina can improve and is getting too high GOE for.
Miyahara doesnt have as many transitions as Zagitova, Zagitova covers so much ice and goes around the rink twice in her Chsq meanwhile Miyahara is only in the center. Many credits to Zagitova for pulling that Carmen choreo.
@@KatsumiManami Have you read your ISU rulebook? Choreographic sequences have no set pattern or ice coverage requirements. A larger pattern doesn't mean a better sequence. I'm talking strictly about posture and holding of positions. But if you want to compare apples to apples, both do a forward spiral. Zagitova kicks her leg up for one second while Miyahara holds hers, and her extension is better and her edge deeper. Even in the subtle forward leg raises; Miyahara has better suspension throughout her body. Zagitova is fine, but the posture can definitely be improved, the arch in the Ina, etc.

What's your point? As I said above, there's no set requirements or patterns for the choreo sequence. If they choose to do spirals, nothing is stopping them. It's a beautiful highlight move when done well (ala Kwan, Cohen, Arakawa and so you don't think I'm anti-Russian, Lipnitskaia). They can pick from many different elements; Tuktamysheva chooses to do no spirals at all (her sequence is relative bare compared to others) while Zagitova does one brief one (both do besti squats instead). Daleman has no spirals, while Bell (the highest GOE) is mostly spirals. Kihira and Miyahara do have the same choreographer, but their sequences are dictated by the music and change (last year, they did one spiral and more footwork in their sequences, for example).
