You know what, me too. It confused me _so hard_ until at some point I finally heard the G. For me, it was the same with Him from the Powerpuff Girls, as I couldn't tell for the longest time if his name was Him or Kim, and I also couldn't tell if he was male or female, for obvious reasons, and that fact only lent further to the name confusion.
