Recipe
600g / 5 cups of Plain Flour or Bread Flour (at least 11g of protein)
250ml / 1 cup of Buttermilk or Regular milk
25g of Fresh yeast or 9g/3 tsp instant dry
4 medium eggs
60g / 1/4 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tsp of salt
Zest of half a lemon (optional)
100g / approx 1 stick of softened butter

These were fried at around 180-190C in sunflower oil for about a minute on each side
Note - This dough is quite rich so if you’re using instant dry yeast mix it thoroughly with the flour beforehand. If using active dry yeast activate it first with the lukewarm milk and sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it bubbles and foams
