I love Brockman, but I can’t help and feel like he’s campaigning for this more then he actually believes it. RE always says this is absolutely insane and RE knows the NFL.
As a Patriots fan, I absolutely agree. McDaniel is a great Head Coach. Great. I love his press conferences/interviews...he's definitely turning the Dolphins into a contender. He shouldn't be on this list. I'd put Doug Pedersen on it instead.
To say we haven't had success is ludacris. We went from the longest playoff drought in sports history to back to back to back division winners. I agree we need to win the big game but who else is gonna step in and be BETTER than Sean rn?
The case for firing McCarthy is that they’ve done nothing with those 36 wins the last three years. Three of the most embarrassing playoff losses in cowboys history back-to-back-to-back. As a giants fan, I hope yall keep him as much as yall hope we keep DJ.
Sean McDermott is kind of like Mike Tomlin. You'll win a lot of games with him, but the stars need to align perfectly and maybe a little help from the refs to win a Super Bowl.
When Tom talked about the Giants overachieving in year one makes me wonder if that same thing might happen to Houston this year. Is it possible teams will figure them out now that they see what Stroud can do?

All I gotta say about coaches and QB's duos is that there is none that have won their 1st SB together after their 1st 5 years together. So the Ravens and Bills should take notice...
He hasn't had much to show for his first two seasons. I'd say it's the opposite of things going sideways. He needs a lot of things to go right to keep his job
I would need to see multiple years of Miami getting worse to even entertain the idea of firing McDaniel. They've improved every year since he got there, and the team is clearly better for him being there. People think the QB drought in Miami has been tough, but the coaching has been even worse (aside from that brief moment where MCDC was the interim coach).
Man, I was 6 for 6, but I didn’t have Antonio Pierce on my List. 8/10 but I had Tomlin and Pederson instead of Pierce and Saleh. Completely forgot about the Jets.
Agree with most of the list, though I'd put Dan Quinn and Todd Bowls 9 and 10. I think Washington season could be a disaster and as for Bowls... he's decent coach but sometimes they just get sick of looking at you and he's been HC there awhile with very limited success.
McDermott won the AFC East 3 years in a row....sure, Tom Brady leaving helped, but you don't usually aee coaches get fired when they're consistently winning the division. My team had River, Del Rio and Bienimy trying to coach their way out of a wet paper bag and failing....Id take McDermott over that
It really depends on how they do. I don’t personally think he’s on the hot seat. But, if they’re a mess & end up a 3-5 win team? I could see it happen, especially if Mark Davis felt pressured to hire him.
The NY Giants went 9 and 7 twice and won the Super Bowl...Against The Patriots, no less! The Pats even had 16 and 0 regular season. If the team is unable to even win a playoff game...STOP with the regular season BS...
Mike McCarthy seems likely to be fired if the Cowboys continue to fail in the postseason, but there's not much chance they look bad enough in the regular season for there to be a conversation before then. In terms of likelihood they're fired midseason, I'd say Daboll or Siriani have the highest chance of coming out of the gate flat and the accumulation of evidence tips it over at mid-season.
It wasn't mentioned here that Caleb Williams does not have an agent and hasn't tried to negotiate a contract yet. If you believe him he thinks his lawyer will do it which is not possible. It is bizarre but regardless, if this stupidity isn't settled until right before games start it will be slow starting at the least.
NFC South is not a wide open division. Can we please stop being ignorant about that division now. Carolina is the only bad team in the division and they improved massively.
I don't mind an extended session when the guy is willing to say things like how the Raiders QB competition seems very much not set in stone. It felt like a lot of fans and media pundits just immediately dumped AOC mentally, but he's absolutely right that players have seem to come out to defend or rather bump up AOC. I dunno I didn't love the entire segment but I'd rather have the segment be long and have opportunity for food for thought then it be short and have one of these picks immediately dismissed with no willingness to discuss. Besides, every minute here I watched is a minute burned towards getting to the regular season.

No one hired Bill Belichick for a reason. He had carte blanche over that NE team and drove it into the ground after Brady left. Yes, he lost a generational football God at QB, but the game has changed since Bill's reign too. Offenses are more versatile now, QB's are more protected, and that combo can extend possessions too effectively. Unless you have a magician at QB like Mahomes, Lamar, or Brady, a defensive coach playing moneyball with his offense doesn't work, everyone knows it, and the Patriots over the last few years are proof of it. His coaching tree is proof as well. It is withered by guys who not only lost in head coaching roles, but also coordinator roles, and who lost their locker rooms early, if they ever had them. He's clearly got problems in the coaching capacity that is reflected in his recent records and his disciples, and he would not be the automatic thing Brockman gives him credit for.
There is no way that Jerry Jones would let Bill Belichick be coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Bill would want to be totally in charge of the draft and the hiring of coaches and everything in football operations. Jerry would not allow that. Furthermore, next year Belichick will be 73 years old. That is too old to be a head coach. That is not being prejudiced against old people. I am an old people.
Ken Dorsey isn't a good football coach though, and McDermott was that rare defensive HC that couldn't figure out how to run the ball consistently, outside of the QB. Daboll was winning games with an overpaid Jones, an oft injured Taylor, and a practice squad QB with Devito AND the worst OL in the league. The raider's take may be one of the dumbest Brockman has ever had.
Yeah, how long had it been since Miami had gone to the playoffs before McDaniel showed up? 17 Years? Yeaaaaaa...I think his seat is ice cold. I think if Miami fires McDaniel, they're stupid. And I think if they DO fire him, he's going to be unemployed for about five minutes before another NFL franchise hires him on the spot.
There is just something that is just so fundamentally annoying about a patriots fan having an opinion that success is only winning it all - no in between or exceptions. Yes, obviously, we all want to win the superbowl but the other 95+% of the league aren't inherently failures. I have always enjoyed Rich, but this is officially the last video (even when he's back). Chris is just so needlessly mean and I don't need that in my life.
