We giving Lebron too much credit. The over inflation of him is ruining his legacy. Lebron is good enough to where you don’t need to add all these extras. We to the point where we think he’s the GM of the team and has Adam Silver on call. It’s unnecessary and only gives haters an argument to say he’s overrated. I will say that it does definitely feed the naysayers more ammo to go at LeBron but I also feel like in a larger sense LeBron tries to control the narrative so much that his influence gives the media people who praise him the same tendencies. Almost subconciously at this point because of how much of a pedostile they try to put him on. From Colin, to Nick Wright, to Max Kellerman, to Shannon Sharpe, and etc all praise LeBron so much that they try to minimize any criticism or flaws that he has because they feel like the NBA revolves around him and he can do no wrong because he's LeBron "the best player in the world".

If you really want to fix the all star game then take the all stars out of it. Let rookies and vets go at it or something. The people playing in this game are the most important players for their teams. You can’t expect them to put a season on the line or even a championship on the line for a game that they aren’t getting anything from. I personally liked the game because it was actually sorta competitive and I got to see all the stars out there showing they still have fun playing the game. That’s all you can really ask for.

Whitlock has a point when he said you couldn't see who was who, even though the jerseys were black and white, because it wasn't West vs East, if you hadn't seen the teams, and came in when LeBron and Steph were on the bench, you wouldn't know which team was which, cause the graphic was the same for both teams, it just showed the names, not the colors of the teams!

As an overseas NBA fan for whom football (soccer) is the first love, I thought there was too much "entertainment" surrounding the game. I love sport because of sport, and I don't really need all the bells and whistles with comedians and musicians etc. I'm surprised the guys on the Herd also thought there was an entertainment overkill as I just assumed it was a part of American sports culture I would just have to accept, even if I did not quite appreciate it.

Whitlock had a great final point, all this extra stuff starts to turn off people who simply like the game, especially when the game ends up being garbage. It needs to be cut back and I think they should do what other leagues did in the past, where the conference that wins the all star game gets home court advantage in the finals. That would guarantee some degree of effort since all stars are usually on winning teams anyways.

This generation of NBA players has messed up the all-star game. In the 80's and even in the 90's you had fundamentally sound players who knew how to play basketball, so when they didn't play as hard in the all-star game, it looked more professional, even though you know the players weren't trying to do anything but prevent being embarrassed. Plus back then peers used to like to prove they were better than one another; right now you have guys who aren't fundamentally sound, they cannot play without the ball, and they don't want to compete against a rival. The game is embarrassing and I didn't watch it live because of the entire spectacle... I saw it on the replay and it was exactly how I thought it would be.... Make LeBron James look better than Steph Curry and non-winning players like Harden hogging the ball by taking bad shots. Way to go NBA! The NBA defiled itself with that performance... the fans will continue to enjoy it because they don't know what bad or good basketball really is... come down, shoot a 3 and make a couple of passes and shoot a bad shot. Way to go NBA!

Whatchu want from an allstar game? To me it was actually boring and the crowd was like a funeral crowd. So gone are the days of throwing the ball off the glass? That tmac and vince carter off the glass dunk will always be memorable. Fans wanna see cool dunks and stuff but in a competitive way, not laying on the ground tryna be cute. I don't want it to be like a real game, it's an allstar game and its supposed to be all fun and entertaining until the 4th qtr. I do however wanna see one on one matchups where everybody stands to the side...like that kyrie vs brandon knight one. That was intense and the crowd was super engaged. It's about the fans and the all-star game should have the fans on the edge of their seats the entire game because it is the best 24 players in the entire world

they should have the charity there putting towards as there team name or if its to long the initials. as lebron said first and foremost make sure the boys go back to there respective teams to make a stretch for the playoffs. so either do it after the season or do it like the pro ball in a 3 day stretch before the nba finals

Really Cowherd? Steph was eating popcorn and Jimmy butler opted not to play. The reason it got better was the draft. If it was East vs. West it's not even close. That didn't feel like a real game. They were chucking up shots from anywhere. Chris there were other competitive all-star games for the last 2 minutes. I didn't see that much better.

The game was good. Lebron was essential and his legacy will be fine. Whether Lebron becomes "GOAT" idgaf. He is the most versatile player while handling all the team leadership responsibilities. Not to mention carrying the league socially off the court. BTW Whitlock is annoying.
