why rip us? the fireplace learned from it's mistakes and gave our reaper infinite warmth, it gave us a cat, it gave us furniture. And now that the undead don't have a leader (Ibzan) they are fucked. So the only rip is Ibzan and undead EDIT: also we can talk anytime we want to the fireplace.

@@desperate.1897 Yeah, but our reaper never gave a singular shit. Izban wanted warmth, wanted a friend, wanted furnitue, and wanted to talk to the fireplace at any time, but he got nothing and the fireplace only talked to him to send him on jobs and nothing else. Our reaper got furniture, a potential friend in both the fireplace and the cat, and the ability to talk to the fire at any time, but our reaper doesn't care much about the cat, doesn't really use the furniture much, and only ever actually talks to the fire to go on missions(and even then it seems more like internal monologue related to the missions rather than actually talking to the flames). What I'm trying to say is, Izban wanted a bunch of things and instead only got work he hated, while we were given everything Izban wanted but all we really cared about was work(which got forcefully taken away from us at the end).

I feel the same way honestly. Hopoo is an indie gem with no equal, and Chris, with all his careful thought and composing talent, is the keystone that lends itself to their ascension. Their games are wonderful by themselves but their soundtracks make them timeless.

@@lacageasaad7973 The Flames had probably regretted not giving Ibzan a talk either, but perhaps there's a certain code that must be followed. Only a Reaper can see the Flames and whatnot, and Ibzan squandered that by committing suicide in the first place, damning himself to eternal cold.

La Cage à Saad The reaper's job is being the reaper to end the undead's life and suffering. The reaper actually gives redemption to the undead. "An undead.... cannot live with me".

Gwyn tried to be mellow but it didn't feel right for the setting. Izban was just your past role who wanted out. He deserved something quiet too. No piano, just mellow guitar and synth.

@@floofbirb4436 no I think gwyn's theme fit incredibly well. Contextually it fit incredibly well and really expressed the emotions intended to be felt during that fight.

Gwyn's theme is that of a former boss. A husk of an impotent god who tried to maintain the light as much as he could.

Am I the only one here that felt so fucking sorry for that guy ? He's been fooled all along, he's been played like a puppet, and the... Creature, that took everything away from him won't even let him have his last wish: a single, simple talk. That's heartbreaking. Man, thinking about this level almost brings tears to my eyes. Plus, the credit "minigame" is absolutely horrifying. I just stopped shooting those guys. Didn't see the point. Why the hell was I doing that to begin with ?

Because, @La Cage à Saad, it's fun. And well, he is the reaper after all.

I honestly didn't find it funny. When you think about it you're just shooting people in sorrow: zombies are desperate to find emotions and physical feelings, thus their addiction to drugs, skeletons are in constant coldness and loneliness, vampires are heartbroken...

SPOILER The reaper we play as is not dead, we know this from the dialouge with the fireplace "You can see your reflection, you are not undead" or something like that. And Izban killed himself as a reaper and became a skeleton.

@@kontrol42 I usually play everything but for this record I knew I'd need some guitar playing beyond my abilities so I brought in the big guns :) Also all acoustic drums are played by a friend of mine, Thanasis Moustogiannis.
