As someone who never played the original, it's a blast to play RoR Returns and hearing the actual song in-game That alongside Chanson d'Automne, which I love because it gave The Rain Formerly Known AS Purple its leitmotif, and the credit song makes this an awesome experience Thank you

Getting back to the Contact Light again was just... God I cannot even begin to describe how perfect this song is for the final level. The somber beginning really encapsulates the feeling of sifting through the wreckage after a disaster, with the building action as you navigate the violence that's become routine to you, culminating in that final desperate struggle to reach the cockpit as all hell is breaking loose. Hits as hard today as it did 10 years ago.

just bought the vinyl. when this song came on in my first playthrough of returns i was in shock at how good this sounds. it fits perfectly with the game and it is even better than i remember. i saw the vinyl comes with sheet music and i cant wait to make an arrangement of this song on guitar. thank you for ten years of amazing music chris.

Congratulations for the great job Chirs! One day I was listening to some random musics on youtube music, and i heard this one and recognizes the style and sayd "Hey, it's similar to the Risk of Rain songs", when i checked you were the author, your style is distinct and unique. Nowadays i still hear your musics when I'm working ,driving or just relaxing. Thank you for one of the bests music experiences of my life. This game was a part of my childhood, and I'm happy to see that you are still working with it, and hope it continues this way.

I can't understand just how good this track and Coalescence Returns are. The gameplay of ROR/ROR2/RORR is why people pick it up, but your music is so integral to the series that you're inextricably bound to everyone's fond memories of the games. Thank you for your incredible work you fucking genius.

I really have to say. You just attacked my emotions in positive way. Literally, I love the style how bass percussions rose up. They pierce ma ears like royal capacitor with ten lens-mark's glasses. Coalescence was already perfect before decade, but now. It's truly magnum opus of game soundtrack. I really love both old and new version. Also the coalescence returns too. I can't wait to hear this in game! Horray from korea, for the chris!

I just feel the need to say, that the moment i saw RoR Returns released i knew the game was gonna be worth it's salt and got it, even as a complete stranger to the series. I've since sank hours into the game and recently got into the second game as well. You're a composer like no other, Chris. You're the greatest reason that I've met this wonderful experience and precisely what makes it so immaculate in it's presentation. If there's one regret i have in life, it's that i didn't get to grow up with the original game from 2013 like so many others here, even though i had the opportunity. Better late than never, i guess! Thank you for the emotions, and please never stop putting your heart and soul on what you love the most ❤

This is one of my favorite song of the entire franchise. Contending with it is: They Might as Well be Dead, Once in a Lullaby, Con Lentitud Poderosa, Surface Tension, Chanson d’Automne (I think that’s what it’s called), and The Rain Formerly Known as Purple). Your music is absolutely amazing, and each and every song is just as good the last.

I'm fairly new to the RoR franchise, I started playing 2 a little before Returns released. But let me just say that now, having played both 2 and Returns, that these games are very special to me, and your music is a huge part of that. Nothing will beat the first time I made it to the Contact Light with this track playing, and I regularly listen to the soundtracks on my own time. I guess this is my weird way of saying thank you, and I hope you keep making bangers like this one!

Coalescence is one of those songs that will always make me tear up when I hear it, and I don't even have any sorta experience to tie it too, aside from the game itself- hearing it during that last stage, knowing something didn't feel quite right.. I had to plug in my headphones just to make sure Coalescence was the only thing I could hear

I want to get something off my chest, Chris. Almost exactly ten years ago on the Chucklefish forums, in one of the topics about the OST, people were discussing the tracks as they came along. I found some of my old comments. I said I appreciated the nuance and how themes from different tracks emerged in one another, but added that I didn't fall in love with the music. To this, you jokingly replied that meant you failed. I never played RoR2, and yet the music from RoR1 (and Deadbolt) has stayed with me ever since. I bought it on Bandcamp at a later point. It's still in my permanent playlist, and I still listen to some of the tracks every now and then - and they still bring me joy. Coalescence is one of my favorites. I was wrong, Chris. I did actually fall in love with the music.

so it's been what? almost 8 goddamn years since i've first heard this, 9 years since i played the game for the first time this song is still my go to when i'm almost having an anxiety attack and i'd like to tell the story of why that is so, took about one year to actually beat the game, it took me such a long time to "get it", i was always dying to the second stage, then there was one run, everything was going way better that ever before, i get to the temple, my heart is beating so SO goddamn fast when i see the words "teleport to the final level" i was expecting to be greeted with guns, i was on edge, heart almost pounding out of my chest, then this starts playing and i just melt away into the darkness, every ounce of anxiety just evaporates out of my body, my hearts is normal, my fight or flight deactivates, all i can hear is this so now everytime i go back to this song i'm taken back to that memory, it's the only thing that reliably calms me so thank you for the song and thank you for the game, without them my life would be just a little bit shittier and i'd have a harder time dealing with it

99% of the time I get on risk of rain (whether that is risk of rain 2 or returns) it is because I hear the music somewhere, and I say to myself, damn, risk of rain has some great music.

Playing RoRR and getting on remastered Contact Light with this song just hit different. My heart was aching because of all murders that I needed and did to stay alive. I never felt this way playing RoR, only in Returns I felt saddenning pain

Thank you Chris. You're really talented and honestly have become one of my favorite game composers in recent years and the fact that you made an even BETTER version in Risk 2 just goes to show. I'll never forget these games and their music.
