Actually there is a lot more depth to this story. Farley was extremely protective of Spade's friendship and did not want to lose him. Spade talks about it in his book, his life story is truly incredible.

Go watch the "Scary Story on Halloween" Matt Foley sketch again, (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LyqPdZjQTY.html) and notice how when Farley falls onto the coffee table, he takes David's weight, in full, on top of him, instead of letting David take any of the impact directly. It's a tiny little thing, but I always think about that when I think of Farley and Spade, how even in his on-camera insanity, that was his sweet instinct, to protect his friend.

It's cool David Spade tells stories in a humble way. He didn't just assume everyone in the audience had seen the cult classic that is Tommy Boy, even though they have.

Tommy Boy for the funniest movies ever. I remember going on vacation with my mom and we spent the night in a motel and Tommy Boy was playing. My mom who didn't like comedies actually laughed watching it

Yes, Spade pretty much said as much in his book. Their friendship meant a lot and he was probably afraid of losing him. For an addict like Chris ,someone more or less grounded like David was really important I think.

Amazing James is still on the air, not one late night interviewer more reviled in the comments. I do like the format of the show, just need to sub in a host who will let stories breathe, and won't fanboy slobber over EVERY guest (which sadly seems to be his whole schtick).

I adore James, and I mean ADORE. But why can't he just sit behind his desk and interview his guests like normal hosts? I don't mind that he brings all the guests out at one time; kinda like Graham Norton. But he not only has his chair pulled around, but he LEANS FORWARD into people's personal space! Geeezzzz, BACK IT UP A LITTLE! Too close dude. It's so uncomfortable to watch.

Rob Lowe in the 80´s was incredibly beautifull, you just have to stare at tha face forever in those movies, he is a good looking man now, but back then he was simply irresistible. look him up and you'll see.

Most likely the producer asked Corden to wrap, which is why he interjected so hastily. As he was new to the job he didn't yet have the confidence to just override the producer and let Spade finish the story.
