Unfortunately, this situation is what it is, and a lot of us knew this is what it would be all along. Being a scumbag isn't illegal. Onision has done a ton of unsavory things, but he's been smart enough to know exactly where the legal line is. He's tiptoed ever so close, but has managed to not cross that line. Again, he's a garbage human being, but it doesn't mean he's prosecutable.

Hansen really ruined any good rep he had. If there was a solid case to be made against onion then hansen pretty much ruined it all.

I want to preface this by saying I’ve always thought it was weird that chris went to onision’s house, but “...it’s chris hansen” will never fail to make me laugh

Jeez, anyone who thought Chris Hansen's involvement = guaranteed conviction really doesn't know much about Chris Hansen. Pretty sure people have been let OFF charges because of his involvement over the years.

Tbh I thought it was strange for chris to go to his house. I know he was trying to interview him but I always thought it was wrong to go straight to the guy’s house.

This should be a case study on how not to handle an investigation. Chris accuses "drama channels" of clout chasing, while he simultaneously publicizes an investigation that he knows is dead in the water, simply so he can be seen as the hero. What's worse, his videos and methods could all be taken to court as evidence of harassment, and Onision could not only get off scott-free, but also make a ton of money in legal payout, should he choose to take it to court

It's a bit sad that Sara says she isn't sure if she is a victim of a crime. Might be due to feeling responsible for it (there are plenty ways to say no, but as a victim you often dismiss your own efforts). Anyways, if something had traumatised her, I hope she gets to heal and someday get justice for it. Other than that I think we all can agree that onision is a scumbag

I was blocked from Hansen's Twitter, harassed by Anti-Os and even had someone frighten me by using a food service app to show me pics of my house from Ways, Google Earth and Apple's navigation app. And I'm a fucking NOBODY!!! It was sick and useless and just left me with a broken heart. I had so many good friends on Twitter I had to stop contacting only because I was afraid these degenerates would do, say or send vile things to them. And for what? For FUCKING WHAT?! Chris looked liked an idiot going to Onisions house. The house and the 911 call only made Onision look and sound “normal” and ordinary.

I understand that this video, and in a large part, most Onision/Chris Hansen videos are focusing on just that. But I do think there should be a bit more light on the police in this situation. It's obvious that there are so many things going on with Onision and the way the police handled it was less than great. That isn't to say everyone else didn't have a part in it all. The people spamming the police were out of line. Chris Hansen failed at his job and then lied about it. And Onision is Onision. The whole thing could've been handled better all around

This case is a great example of the argument from position of authority fallacy. Hansen knew this would be a big thing for him because of his previous works. He banked on everyone believing him.

I 100% believe onision has groomed his spouse, Sarah and Shiloh. But the evidence and cooperation of the victims with the police just isn't there so he cannot be jailed for his crimes. Sad case that men like him can take advantage of minors and get away with it.

I've never really respected Chris Hansen. I think about the amount of pedophiles who have gotten away just because he botched their cases, or the way he prioritizes humiliating predators on camera over actually bringing them to justice. He's not really a cop, and it shows. EDIT: Okay, so, he didn't even actually bring predators to justice, it was mostly staged. Obviously much better.

The video title implies there ever was an Onision "investigation."

I think some people forget that Chris Hansen's credentials as a predator catcher have never involved him having to find evidence or to find victims of crimes. With TCAP, he wasn't going out looking for people who had abused children, gathering evidence and testimony, and bringing them to justice. He (along with Perverted Justice) was essentially creating the evidence from scratch. That's not to defend any of the people caught by his investigations; but it is to say that Hansen's ability to do anything more than interview people who got caught by the net is basically untested - until now, when it's been shown to be pretty lacking). Hansen was never having to deal with victims refusing to come forward, or victims who might not actually be victims, or the fuzzy edges of the law regarding grooming. On TCAP they made as sure as they could that there wouldn't be any doubt about whether the crime had been committed (although they weren't always successful), but in real life, things are just a lot messier than that. Even then, judges didn't always agree with their methods, and a fair number of people caught by TCAP weren't convicted as a result. I'm also pretty sure that the law that allowed TCAP to use chatlogs that didn't involve any actual minors only applied in some states. It's pretty easy to assemble a case against someone when you're on the other end of the Internet conversation, purposefully guiding it in that direction because you want to have that evidence. And I think it has presented a misleading sense of how black and white and straightforward any investigation would actually be.

The TCP show was always highly sus to me. When you're going after people nobody will defend, you can get away with all kinds of scams. I was actually probably solicited by one of their 'agents' several times over a period of 2 days. I was in a yahoo chat room and several girls messaged me. And while it's not usual to get messages from bots. They were actual people. It always turned out to be minors and when I said I wouldn't be interested, they'd just drop off. I was still 19 or 20 at time. I was not that much older than the girls who were messaging me but I always knew there were plenty of other ladies out there so I passed. I didn't even know this was a show until a few months later and they were doing an episode about a sting in my state. lol
