Motorsport UK TV caught up with Chris Ingram at the 2023 Roger Albert Clark Rally to take a look around his David Appleby Engineering Triumph TR7 V8. This car is built to full historic rally specifications and is a replica of The Works Triumph TR7 V8 rally cars from the early 80s.
Under the bonnet is a 3.5L rover V8 engine with four dual choke 48 DCOE Weber carburettors and a dry-sump system, producing around 300BHP.

As a true TR8 fan from the beginning THIS CAR IS GORGEOUS! I would have the same engine build dropped into an original mint stock TR8 convertible (in the very rare acid green paint) with a modest suspension rework and 4 wheel disc brake conversion. Every TR8 is a sleeper just waiting for a lovely restomod conversion. LOVE IT!

short of seeing this video just now I had no idea of anything about this car and the time and money and care put into it ...quite unbelievable really ..when we see these cars out on stages and they fly past us we well may think ooohh tidy machine that ... then you watch a vid like this and now im in total ore of it .. Absolutely brilliant

Stunning car. Well done. And I should’ve added, had two TR7, last convertible sold in 2003, owned since three months old in 1982. Rally Tr7/8 seen on RAC rally, always remember the sound in Heaton Park, Manchester when we were allowed out early to go and watch! Happy days

When i used to rally mine back in the early 80's it averaged around 3mpg on a stage, so 100 litre fuel tank, or 22 gallons in old money, that's just under 70 miles ;-)

Stunning car, was never a huge fan of the TR7 but love the rally version, all those Webers 😍, just a small gripe, background music in the vid a bit annoying.
