This is what I love about Violet. She could literally have sang this song like the original note for note, but she started high, stayed there, and put her own spin on the whole thing. Love this version!

On rare occasions, I'll hear a song that evokes a very emotional and visceral response. Violet, your rendition of Wicked Game has done just that. The passion, emotion, and tension of the vocals coupled with the musical arrangement literally almost brought me to tears. It reminded me of someone from my past. Sorrowful yet hauntingly beautiful. I'm torn between never wanting to hear this again or letting the emotions from that time in my life run over me. This may seem like an odd way to compliment you, but you've made this song come to life. I hope that you will always continue with your love for music and you're beautiful way of bringing it to the world.

I remember this song when it came out. It was a haunting piece. Violet only makes it a thousand times more haunting. What an awesome rendition.

From your version, I get the vibe of a tormented person who is in love with a dangerous person. Something similar happened to me with your version of Toxic. The way she presents this, such passion especially poisonous you can actually feel if you can imagine hearing this how much heartbreak and regret that she had over the imaginary lover in the song having that regret. You can actually feel the emotion of it and her hitting all those notes just right gave me goosebumps. I had to put two ear plugs in just be able to get the full effect of this song, close my eyes while the video was playing and just allowed the music to wash over me. Every bit as dark and brooding and lovely as I imagined it would be when I saw the notice for it pop up. GLORIOUS.

So yes, it's a great interpretation. Maybe it's also worth taking a moment to appreciate the arrangement. I love how the guitar bridge/arpeggio is here but remains discreet, in a tantalizing manner for those who know the original. Also the voices on the first refrain are already pretty full, only to be topped later by even more powerful ones. And she doesn't feel the need to completely change the melody to, er, "make it her own", like others would. Solid work.
