Christopher McNabb and Cortney Bell are on trial for the murder of their 2-week-old daughter in Oct. 2017. A Newton County jury saw McNabb's interview with police after the child was found dead on Friday, the trial's fourth day.
Yeah, I think he "went to look" so he could make sure she was as concealed as possible before the search party went out there. Also to dump paraphernalia, as they said they found a bong and some other stuff in a different bag/location out there. Which was dry, but it had rained the night before.
@Ann Tinnin I thought it went to the Pentagon and agencies like homeland security and Veterans affairs. The FBI got some of it too but I dont know how much or if any was going to the smaller local law enforcement agency's. 750 billion went to the Pentagon alone if I remember right and it didn't even cover the entire amount allocated annually for the defense of our nation. That's the crazy part. No hate if I'm wrong. I remember reading about it months ago but i haven't kept up with any of it.
Bro. He obviously was messed up and killed his own baby. Wish someone would just say it. Imo I think the mom did it and he just played along bc that's "street code."
@H J yeah, you figured it out...no one knows. You can think what you believe, feel a certain way,but there is no evidence to sentence him to life none.As much as U want there to be something because I think they both suck as human beings, the State did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.Hell they didn't even prove with a reasonable doubt much less beyond!
I got that vibe for a long time too. Watch the video where the medical examiner shows autopsy photos and describes the baby's condition. The fact that he's smashing his eyes with his fingers and can't produce one actual tear? I knew in my gut that they are both guilty at that point...not to mention him running when the body was found. These people are sick, selfish, and evil.
Mandy McManus uhhh i mean the only excuse which is the real reason in this case is that this is a video of a video. How do you not know that this day in age?
@@itsnickyb92 So your theory is that the news station, with bad equipment, went to the police department and filmed from a video that was perfectly normal? Or did some other random person do that and then the news station used it? That makes more sense to you than the police department providing a copy of the video? You sure? Do you want to rethink that theory? Is this the first police interview video you have ever seen?
Ur trying too hard, ur watching a recording of original wide angle video in the interrogation. It wouldnt have been admissible in court with this poor audio and we never would of seen it. If u cant hear the people in the background taking over the audio of the interview thats ur problem. Its not a theory. A news outlet took their own cell phone into court and recorded the moment they played this for the jury, its really simple.
Mandy McManus no its one of many videos ive seen. Audio can be poor in some but of the 300+ interrogation videos ive watched this poor of quality is ALWAYS the result of a recording of a recording. U should rethink your stance. Domt try and call out people who know what they are talking about. You cant even buy a $20 camera that has this poor quality in this age. Go record a song playing through good quality speakers on your phone and tell me how it goes.
@@itsnickyb92 That doesn't even make sense. The police provide copies to the new organizations. They don't come in an record it. The police don't use a second camera to film from a video. You are reaching so hard to not look dumb and it is just making it worse. Just stop.
Because they were probably up for days and days and finally "crashed or came down". There comes a point where their dopey bodies just shut down. Sometimes it's only for a little bit and sometimes it's 20hrs.
chronic users are able to sleep quite well on it. its usually when people first start using it that they stay up for the long long periods of time without any sleep, like several days in a row long. not just one day.
It’s pretty obvious to me, after watching the trial and reading the interrogation transcripts, that something fell on the baby’s head. The truth is always wrapped around a lie. I think the cops knew it, but also knew it would be easier to convict, and try at least one of them, for manslaughter. The mother makes a point to talk about the tote, and how she put the lightest tote right next to her baby and made sure it was real steady and so that it wouldn’t fall. That had nothing to do with the investigation whatsoever, but it did have something to do with the true story. My guess is that it wasn’t the tote, but that big ass fan that it is placed on top of the clothes and furniture as you walk into the bedroom. It’s heavy, and it’s out of place. And she made mention of the air conditioner but that she didn’t turn it on, making note that she was worried about the temperature of the room and the baby. And the coroner testified that it looked like something like a TV had fallen on the child. I think they went in to check on her and the fan was on her, because they’re terrible fucking parents, and she wasn’t breathing and she was obviously dead, and they knew that everyone would blame them because no one thought they should have the kids in the first place. And eventually both parents decided to hide the child in the woods and say it was kidnapped. Meth-logic. But, in the end, she turned on him, especially in her interview after the baby was found. Thinking, blaming him would be her best and only option at freedom.
I think be if they both know anything about it, he would have busted the truth out when it became apparent his charges were much more serious. He would have said "you know what f*** that we both knew that baby was dead I'm not the only one going down for this. "
If I were being accused of murdering my own baby but was innocent. I would be freaking out and insisting that they need to find the one who did do it. I myself would want the person who was responsible found right away. I would also insist on a lie detector test. And would have testified at my own trial to prove my innocence. You can just tell he’s guilty. Well there are so many other reasons that point to him but it truly is amazing how well people lie.
He hasn’t showed one glimpse of emotion, if my baby had been brutally murdered I would be hysterical, they would have to sedate me , these people are not normal
Lie detector tests do not exist - polygraphs are not admissible in court because they do not prove if somebody is lying or telling the truth. It will only show how worked up you are in response to a question. PLEASE do not ever agree to a polygraph test if you are charged with a crime, innocent or guilty. They are meaningless and can only be used against you. Especially if you suffer from anxiety. The best thing you can do urge them to find who did it, and get a lawyer. I am a court employee who specializes in criminal cases and also in the process of getting a paralegal certificate.
@@neraK4188 This is true. Some people naively think that their innocence is enough to protect them and will dig their own grave. Especially after something so traumatic. Sometimes good people look guilty.
I have mixed feelings about this. I've watched all of the videos regarding the death of that poor little baby. I'm not convinced that he killed his baby nor am I sure he didn't. I'm sure of one thing, that little baby is safe with God and the 2 year old is better off without her parents. All children would have a far better chance in life if their parents grew a backbone and got past their addictions, put their children above all else. Rest in peace little baby.
I agree. Only one of the parents are lying. If they both knew what happened one would have flipped on the other by now. My gut says she did it a rage of frustration and on meth knowing he would get the blame.
@@feigna-xj8rg I agree I don’t think he did it… I think she did it methed up and the baby started crying and she flipped out.. but I don’t think he did it.
how'd they let the baby go home with having meth in its poor lil system. I was told if a mom does any kinda dope after 21 weeks it will appear in the baby's system. and then ocs will have to step in and take the baby from them. So weekday happened to the justice for that baby.
Im just trying to figure out which one of them did it or was it both? Im trying to watch trial but dont seem to be getting me anywhere ,lol..Maybe my mind is distracted with all this damn covid 19 chaosgoing on.....idk
Does anyone know what evidence was used to convict him, other than him and everyone he knows being meth addicts and having criminal records? I've seen bits and pieces of the trial, but never saw anything that just absolutely pointed to him. I can see why people would reasonably assume he could be capable of it, and I'm not saying he didn't do it. I'm just curious what the actual evidence was. This interview/interrogation quality is so bad, I don't know how a jury could understand much of it. And the others I've seen are just like this one.
Everyone in the courtroom had the interviews transcribed I've read them. Court tv has a link to all of them on their twitter page there's 3 interviews with Chris and 3 with Cortney transcribed.
@@brussell639 No neither confessed to murder. You should watch the prosecutions closing arguments she points out all of Chris' lies and inconsistencies. There's proof he was up messaging people on fb at 9:42am and the baby was gone at 10:19 then he went to the woods where they found the baby and he was gone for 40mins. He didn't even want Cortney to dial 911 after they found out the baby was gone.
@Love One another One theory I kinda wondered about was the guy he sorta tricked into coming over to fight. He supposedly put a pretty good beating on the guy. It might seem like a stretch to consider that he (the one who received the ass-whoopin) may have done it for revenge, but we're not dealing with rational people here. It seemed like almost everyone involved was an addict. And that's another thing I always see people assume that being high would cause someone to do something like that. It's actually the opposite. People do more hideous things when they're experiencing withdrawals and will do anything for a fix.
@Love One another It was during the testimony of a friend of the dad where that info came out about the fight. They lured the guy over because he was supposedly getting violent with "party pam" who is either the mom's or dad's mother. I can't remember which one she belongs to. I thought it was interesting information. Just in everything I did see about the case, and read, I didn't think the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty. Another interesting tidbit happened at the mom's sentencing. The judge flat out said even though we know you didn't commit the murder, participate in it, plan it, or have any knowledge that it would happen, you were found guilty because you chose to remain in an environment that put your baby in harm's way. So he admitted she was found guilty of murder because she was a bad mom and made bad decisions. Murder and neglect are two very different things. I couldn't believe the judge said that. It seems like his judgment is clouded and the law was ignored. I think the fact that both the mom and dad just come off as so unlikable, they were convicted because of emotions rather than the guidelines of the law. And of course this is all my opinion, based on the information that I saw and read, which is in no way complete, but that's what I came away with.
I know if that was me and I just had found out my baby was found dead I would be screaming and balling my eyes out and throwing shit going freaking crazy in that room. But he is not even upset or anything that's just another reason telling me he did it.
He's probably strung out on meth I mean for some research if literally eats a hole in the frontal lobe of the brain so they do not need any children int heir world of drugs an crime to bad someone didn't intervene before this happened.
@joe ward exactly.A normal person couldn't grieve if your a suspect much less one who has drugs in thier system and probably doesn't have the bond that a normal dad would have
Aside from when McNabb and Bell hung their heads and cried at the sight of the autopsy testimony the only person I've seen cry over this sweet little babe is Lauren Mackey.
@@itsnickyb92 Firstly, thanks again for your second comment 😄 Problem is, you need to go back to school to learn about punctuation. Then I could understand what the chuff you are talking about??? I look forward to your next comment because dicks like you always do!!! 👏
At 9:03 does he say Courtney stated when she got the call about the baby being deceased and they accused Chris saying she was found dead on the side of the side and why wasn’t the baby found in the woods ...to me that statement says a lot and says she knew the baby was in the woods
I agree, in one of their jail house phone calls, he's begging and crying, she is too, and ge says something suspicious to me, like only the 2 of them would understand,....he says something like , paraphrasing but 'I didn't do it, someone took her and put her back' .....to me it sounds like he's talking about the gravesite, and someone's messing with them by moving the body.
I also dont believe he maliciously killed her but when u look the way he does ppl will automatically assume yr guilty.. Thats y my mom told me never get tattoos below the elbow for job interviews lol
The fact that the actual "words" he is saying are basically indecipherable is not important; the dude has zero emotion about his infant that was found murdered. Not natural. End of story. Guilty.
When my mother passed away when I was 9 I felt absolutely nothing bc the pain hit me so hard initially that I forced it out of my mind, I denied myself the feeling of grief. I understood death but I didnt cry at the funeral and I sounded like a robot for a long time, it's due to trauma. Every body reacts differently to trauma. U cant tell someone how to react when they deal with something. And even within the same person each reaction may be different. I'm not saying hes innocent but I'm not saying the reaction he is is 100% telling that he did it either. Its realistically not a very smart approach to judge someone's demeanor after they loose a child or any loved one to prove their innocence or guilty status. It's not fair.
I was 8 when my Grandparents were killed in a car accident. They weren't close so I didn't see them often. They were my Mothers' Parents and she was devastated. The pressure was very intense and I burst out laughing when I was told. I couldn't control it. I feel bad about it now, I just freaked out laughing and ran to my room.
People who are guilty who are being questioned will usually try to appear distraught and overly emotional about the situation. His lack of emotion is not evidence of anything.
Omg I bet he killed that dear little baby with that flash light he put in his pocket...think the officer said it was day light out, what a monster I can't really hear what they are saying!
The Sound Is So Bad In This Vid... I Would Rather That This Video Cut Out Completely For 5 Minutes... And Then When It Returns The Two Officers Are Picking Orange Jump Suit Bastard Off The Floor With Missing Teeth And Blood Flowing Out His Head... Whilst One Of The Officers Say... HEY... LOOKS LIKE WE GOT THE AUDIO BACK...
I watched & listened to this case very carefully! In spite of how this guy acted during the time after the baby was reported missing, I kinda got the suspicion that he might not have done this and was really telling the truth. Suspicion lay heavy on him because of him jumping out of the car but no one can really say how they'd react to something like this until they're faced with it. He may have been a fall guy for the mom because she turned on him really quick. There's no way in hell the mother of a newborn wouldn't have known if her baby was being abused and injured and highly unlikely to be taken from the house long enough to be hidden and her not know or not notice him gone also. Even a total dumbass tard has at least a small amount of maternal instinct. He even testified to seeing Courtney treat the baby rough at times! I think she may have woke up and found her baby dead and in a panic, hid it herself and didn't plan it but the chance to blame him came about by coincidence and she just went with after he got arrested first. She knew his actions and circumstantial evidence against him would be enough! It happens more than people think! No two people act the same and there's no standard rules of grief and how one should act.
I feel like she didn’t wake up. More completely off her face and AWAKE on meth and baby was crying, as babies do when they need they mumma to feed. Cuddle, change and love but she in a drugged up rage hit her baby and so hard she killed her. Chris in a drugged up state. Took the body and buried for Courtney. That’s why he acted Guilty because he was aware and involved
With all the past wrongful convictions of innocent ppl I thought we come to far as a society to just jump to conclusions and excuse someone of something without doing a through investigation ! Had they looked at the MOTHER! Maybe they would had found evidence! This is sad they convictrd him bcus of his past and bc he smoked meth , well just bc uou smoke meth doesn't make u a crazy baby killer . But what will make you a crazed baby killer is a MOTHER suffering from PPD and crazy jealousy
Was this camera installation done in 1982? Horrible audio and video. Lets go guys, use that taxpayer money for something else besides your slush funds.
wtf is with these government departments , they pay 10x as much as anybody else for electronics thats total junk thats not even as good as you'd get on ebay for 10 bucks
@@mirandashanise979 it's true I think they always carry one so they can tweak and search floors for crumbs they think they've dropped lol... Sad but true
@@dannywilliams7105 it's TRUE my dad is a meth head and he tears apart everything. He once took my moms whole car dash board apart . He once said there was huge bugs in the trees and he needs to go buy raid ....he actually drove to the pharmacy and bought raid .....higher than a motherfucker. Sweating bullets . They see things that are not there. It's a fucked up drug.
I think it's because when the police showed up to their trailer for the initial missing baby report, the cops body camera shows Cortney saying Chris wasn't there because he was out on foot searching for the baby. Then 22 minutes into the cops searching in and around the trailer, Chris finally showed up, soaking wet and muddy supposedly from searching the woods for his 15 day old baby (very odd first place to be looking for a missing baby, if you ask me) but in reality, he wasn't out in the woods searching for her, he was no doubt just getting back from hiding her in those woods. He probably took the flashlight with him since it was kind of dark in some areas of the woods at that hour. Right when he showed up you can hear him on the body cam immediately start defending himself, for no reason, and making himself suspect, things like "I didn't leave with the baby, I went to the woods alone, you can even ask my baby's Momma" & "I get blamed for EVERYTHING!" Thank God he is such an idiot because he helped himself become their #1 suspect right off the bat.
Against popular opinion I think it was Courtney that did it but it's easier to think that the father did it vs the mother since the fathers are looked at realistically by most, the secondary parent or like a babysitter! Of course now Courtney's 2nd degree murder conviction has been over turned due to insufficient evidence determined by the appellate court but she still is guilty on the 2nd degree charge for cruelty to children which holds a mandatory 10 year sentence to be fully served! You cannot receive 2 for 1 credit or good behavior on a conviction!
They were both involved while in a meth induced haze. He may sound like he didn’t do it but no way is he going to take the fall alone. Meth users can always tell a good story….most addicts have this lying crap down to a science. He’s not innocent and he knows what happened and so does she. They’re both going to jail…where they belong. They both failed that baby in every way. Don’t feel sorry for him or her. Feel sorry for that poor baby.
The reason the sound is not great on most of these interrogation videos is that they are taken from the trial/court. You need to apply to get the original
If her family took the kids because of there reasons they should have kept them babies and that baby would still be here. I don’t think he did it I think it was.an accident and he was high and started panicking and she played on it let him take the blame but he was crying he was snotty and she didn’t cry until she got sent ice
