A RU-vidr is not a certified Journalist and is not afforded the same legal privileges as a Journalist. A Journalist would have registered with the authorities and obtained the necessary permits. There are Laws and Regulations in every country that have to be adhered to. The mere fact that Chris was uploading videos each day, gangs were able to benefit from his posts almost in real time. That was the real reason the gangs embraced him at the same time he was generating views and Subscribers. Had he waited until he got back to Canada and upload, none of this would have occurred. However, had he done it that way he would not have generated that much exposure and the gangs won't have benefitted. Sometimes is not what you do but how you do it. Had a resident of Trinidad done the same thing they would have been punished so why would there be a double standard for a tourist. Don't make this a political issue and see it for what it is; a person violating a law and is being held accountable. Chris is fully aware of what was done and needs to accept responsibility for his actions or inactions, apologize to the court, pray for a disposition of a fines, get back his passport and return to Canada ASAP. If this had taken place in Russia, North Korea, Columbia or Mexico it would have been dire consequences.

We as ppl in the Caribbean are fully aware of what is happening in our islands… with that being said, what is he trying to prove or disprove? Who is his target audience??
