This young man seems like a good person at heart. He got involved very young with the wrong people, and I am pretty sure they used him too. Before they sentenced him, they should have taken into consideration that he was a minor and that it was his first major offense. I hope he can get a new trial and be released from prison before his 40th birthday.

I'm sure the people he unalived would've wished to touch a tree and do all the normal things as well.

That's one thing I've noticed with a lot of guys who have done multiple years in prison is they don't seem to mature mentally ..."In a lot of cases physically as well ".. they never get a chance to live a real adult life. They pretty much come out the same age. They grow up in a lot of aspects. I'm sure a lot of them do but without living a real adult life on the outside. You get out not even known how to be an adult.

He DEFINITELY deserves a second chance. 60 years for a young 14 year old kid, murder or not, is just extreme on this guy’s circumstances. He legit does seem as he is wanting a better life. He has my support 100% we only get 1 life, most 14 yr old kids deserve another chance. Not everyone is raised in the right environment. We've seen it time and time again. Yet, there are others who give up once they are behind bars and fall into the same bad patterns they did on the outside that got them in trouble in the first place. We don't have the answers, but those who can remain positive and find a way to better themselves behind bars always seem to do much better once they're released. He murdered someone, but he deserves a 2nd chance? In accordance with God's Word, the penalty for murder is death,. I understand that most don't know His Word or agree with it, but that doesn't make the Word wrong. Considering that he didn't get a death sentence, he already received grace. With that said, I know there are others who were older, who did the same and were let out sooner, but that's an injustice. Letting him out would be another injustice. If God has changed his heart, and it appears such may have happened, then he is already getting a second chance. If his heart was changed and if he knows and confesses that Christ died for his sins, he'll not only get to experience that second chance at life, he will be enjoying far more than most people who never spend a single day in a jail cell on this side of life. What I'm saying isn't going to be popular amongst most people of the world, but it's true. This young man isn't dumb, despite the so-called IQ. Instead of showing any accountability, he deceitfully leads the listener into hearing what he wants them to hear, so that they'll gather that he was just some innocent kid who was taken advantage of and victimized. Some of that may be true, but he made a lot of wrongful choices on his own. In this day and age, where those who defend God's Word are ridiculed, and criminals are defended and rewarded, I would not be surprised at all if someone would tell me that he's going to be let out soon or is already out. I still need to finish the rest of this video and look up more details, as this is first time I've heard this story and I'm only at the 27 min mark of this video. Nonetheless, I'm still going to stick by saying that I'll lean on God's Word to guide me in the way I look at things.

You don't have to wonder u are correct! Grass yes there is grass in certain areas on prison grounds even gardens at some. But a actual tree especially a tree that is big and grown freely for many yrs. Is very rare in a prison yard or on grounds... and some prisoner's are 23 and 1 which means they are confined to a cell 23 hrs. A day get out one hr. For shower "recreation" or phone call....

There’s actually a science to grounding and touching trees…in fact, I recommend doing it every day if u can. I read somewhere that trees absorb pain and stress from people and it helps being that it’s roots are connected to the greater energy grid of earth. Think the movie Avatar when they connected to the ancestor tree…sunt like that.

It's one of my fondest childhood memories. Sitting under the tree with my books or toys. I'd feel the tree was alive and somehow my comfort in the chaos of my home life and world.

When ur locked up, the littlest things u miss! I just wanted food after 10 years. A steak, a real salad. An to pet a dog, that's all I wanted to do when I got home!

Trying looking at facts. Other countries have proper rehab programs and their criminals regularly come out better people....The world is not the USA!!. Many other countries have great programs. Only the US and Latin America still have archaic systems that are toxic like this. Just look at Sweden, Norway, many EU nations.

@janine5540 yes, good point. I forgot about that. They just said it was 71 to try to get sympathy from the jury or make them think he didn't know what he was doing or something. Well hopefully he's changed. I would think that he has. He seems like a decent person now. Who knows. I know there's a huge debate whether children should get life. I really don't know what my opinion is. Does he have to do 2/3 of his sentence? I don't know the laws very well. But if so then I think he would get out at around 60 years old? Hopefully he rltruly regrets what he did and would never do somehlthing like that again and gets out and is a productive member of society. It's hard to say what someone will do when they get out.

Yes , I agree he seems like a nice person but do not forget one important fact.......HE MURDERED SOMEONE . People are not sent to prison based on whether they are nice or not nice .

Like he said he was young and confused. I wouldn't hold that against him. And I was the parent of the young man who lost his life I hope I would feel the same.

He should apply for a compassionate release.. for excessive sentance and being a juvenile at the time of the crime... he would stand a better chance if he had 20 or more behind him...

People don't have to agree on the issues that surround these cases, but bringing viewers into a world they rarely get to see is hopefully informative in one way or another. @AskMeK2 - Thank you for bringing this up. The reason we ask interviewees to answer questions in full sentences is because usually, these interviews are used for TV shows and films where the audience won't hear our questions. The questions are edited out during production and only the person being interviewed is heard. If audiences don't hear the question, the answers can sometimes be confusing. Therefore, all producers are taught to ask the people being interviewed to state their answers in full sentences. Our RU-vid videos are what we call "raw footage" so this is why you hear the interviewer asking him to repeat things. Trust us, it's not comfortable for us either, but it's what happens behind the scenes in almost every documentary interview. You just normally don't get to see it! Hopefully this helps answer your question, and thank you for allowing us to explain!

Do you really not know anything of how they do these interviews so they can sound nice and smooth after editing. This is the raw interview. How the sausage is made isn't pretty.

@@CalamariProductions I understand this, but for these types of interviews, it seemed to hurt the picture he was trying to depict. Prior to being asked to do this, he seemed comfortable with the interviewers presence and was answering questions openly and honestly, showing his true character. You can see and feel his demeanor change, as he was trying to remember to answer the questions in full sentences. He seemed far less genuine, as though he was answering questions the way he wants a future court to see. It came off very scripted, which seems more troublesome than helpful. Very robotic. If the point is to show that he deserves a second chance, that he has changed his life, a raw depiction of his character and emotion would have been better in my personal opinion. Probably why I'm not a producer.

@@doughdough805 I think looking back at his interview he would be glad it was done in a professional matter so his answers are long and clear, but I agree with you that a interview where is more like a chat among friends is more comfortable.

Well, we have Cartel in the States and if Minors were not held accountable......the Cartel and Gangs would be using all the 14 thru 16 year olds to do all the killing. Why not if they are turned loose at 18 ?
