Yes. He is spot on when he says that interviews are about show business not music. Most of these interviewers know nothing at all about music. In the UK, there has not been a series on TV with a focus on actual music for many decades. Individual artistes or people - but, like Chris says, it's lifestyle not the music itself.
So sad he is an endangered species,wish i could turn the clock back 20 years for him as i worry for his health.One of a kind......thank you Chris for enriching my life with your music and above all your humility.
I find nothing more about him after his fall onstage in 2017. Do u know if it was another stroke? Loss of balance? Did he have to stop performing after that? I so love his work, and he's such a charismatic individual.

Such a humble, sweet and unaffected musician...much like the wonderful Kate Bush. This sweet humbleness only makes them more adorable! But goodness, those two giggling fools on the couch...shame...poor Chris looked embarrassed! He was far more mature & composed than the two of them put together.
Chris has no pancreas, so he has to eat between 30-40 pills a day and take 2-3 injections. But he is managing his condition very well, and is completely healthy.
besides being a brilliant singer/songwriter & musician Chris is so down to earth....thank you for this interview, there are so few of them....does anyone know how his health is today?....I wish I could see him in concert but know that will never happen in the US...
He is a thinker. The thing is, intelligent, reflective people like Chris know that there is so much more to know and to understand - they see themselves as one ordinary guy in a massive universe. He is anything but ordinary! He will keep creating till the day he dies. A musician not a rock star.
@@chunkie412 There's two other great musicians who also hail from Middlesborough. One is ex- 'Free' and 'Bad Company' frontman Paul Rodgers (who also fronted 'Queen' for a few years) and 'Whitesnake' main man David Coverdale. As well as Chris Rea himself, I love the great, timeless music from all of those other acts, too. There may well be many other bands or solo artists from Middlesborough that I'm not even aware of. Perhaps some of you could enlighten me?
