Dog's over there getting restless like "turn it down, dad, I'm trying to sleep!" These guy's have been my favorite band since 1997 when I heard Be Quite And Drive on the radio. Hooked ever since. Try that song next. It's over 25 years old but will still give the goosebumps.
It's always great watching you jam to a Deftones banger! Passenger and Cherry Waves are some bangers as well! And I'll just bring this up since I'm here. Go ahead and bring us another DGD one as well! Loving those!
React to Minerva - diamond eyes - be quiet and drive - heart/wires - back to school - 7 words - bored ( early nu Metal my friend these guy are coming from way back in 90’s along with slipknot - Marilyn Manson - Korn - coal chamber - static x - System of a Down limp bizkit .etc.)
Glad you dug it man, shocked you had not heard it period though as it was such a huge song but as mentioned below, I guess I am just old. The sound you mentioned in the video is coming from DJ/Keyboardist Frank Delgado, he is amazing at building soundscapes and adding those little effects you hear throughout songs. Other Deftones songs you should check out Bored Be Quiet and Drive Knife Prty Minerva Xerces Diamond Eyes Tempest Hearts/Wires
If you watch the performance on David Letterman of this song, he does the higher register bridge vocal harmony "ah-ah-ahh" for about the second half of the second time around. Yes, this album is very moody. Knife Prty
His singing style is reminiscent of R&B singers, as the band is pretty influenced by that genre (hence the name of the band sounding like something an old school Motown band would call themselves). He definitely does things that kind of remind me of Sade at times. But he'll do that and then out of nowhere scream like he's in a hardcore band. There's nothing else quite like it out there IMO. Also, if you ever check out the Deftones song "Minerva", watch the video with it. That video is an experience in itself.
"Sounds like there's an effect on it" yea, he uses a lot of delays, chorus and phaser effects on his vocals. Idk if you know effect terms, but delay is obvious..it adds an echo, and you can set the how soon the echos start. Chorus makes it sound like multiple of an instrument, it's what makes it almost sound like multiple of him singling, and adds a kind of "auditorium acoustics" sound. Phaser is that weird effect that sounds like it's not natural and phases between weird electronic pitches. The guitars normally have the same effects on, and using them on all the guitar and vocals gives that sound like you're tripping out. Funny story, I saw them live once in 2006, and he forgot to remove the effects for songs that didn't have it, and it went for the whole time they were on stage and sounded super weird on songs that didn't use all the effects.
@@chrisliftstv Yea no problem dude. As a musician it's just normal for me to know. It's nice to know these things so you can pick up on it in other band's songs and know what you're hearing.
Ok now watch this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cgYTXGVlTeY.html it's from the movie queen of the damned, from which a lot of us know this song
If you have sex to this song, it’s a whole new experience lol I’m telling you right now, this song sets the mood. Then again, it did back in 2004 lol probably different now. Idk
As a huge huge fan of deftones... I dont know why I just never liked this song. Roesmary, goon squad, poltergeist, Acid hologram, sextape, knife party, prince, Minerva, what happened to you... There are so much better. glad you liked it though
